Up for bids is a Mercedes 210SL that is for collector/restorers. This car for it's age is in very good condition. There is some rust, the rust is not deep.. only surface.... it is a spattering on the top, about 6" across the back window and some on the fender. When we had it on the lift, we could see no rust. Of course the paint on the body is faded, but all that it needs is a paint job to restore to the original beauty. The body is in good condition, the white interior seats are in very good condition. The floor carpet is in very good condition. It has a set of five matched tires and the trunk is spotless. We bought this car at an estate sale and wanted to restore it, but my husband became ill and we no longer are able to do this. Whoever owned it before us, took very good care of it. It is a 6 cylinder, gasoline engine. We recently had it gone over by a foreign auto repair service. They had the car running and said it needs an electric fuel pump. If you install a pump that would have originally come on it.....$500 to $600....a universal one...half that price. You can see from the pix, this car is in very good condition. The gentleman that deals in foreign cars, told us what it's worth, as is where is.....and it is way more than we are asking. He said you could sell the grill, steering, seats, etc. for more than our asking price...... It would be a shame to dismantle the car and sell the parts, though.
