Vehicle Detail

Truck # 7 is an open check book maintained 1981 Chevrolet Silverado C-30 / Holmes 480 twin line / Century Formula 1 (no tilt) electric over hydraulic wheel lift wrecker .This wrecker has an active 2010 SCHP inspection and is currently on rotation in the Dillon zone . If you live in South Carolina this SCHP inspection will make it easy for you to put this truck on SCHP rotation this year as an addition to your fleet or as a 2011 start up wrecker service . This wrecker has been used by us as a motor club first responder on the I-95 corridor , and for light duty service including jump starts , fuel deliveries , lock outs , and tire changes .We have used this truck for small rental car swap outs to and from rental car airport pools . This wrecker has also been used as a helper winch truck . These Holmes 480s are brutes for their size if you can keep them stationary . This truck will still pull when my hydraulic Century 412's stall out . The chassis is a Silverado C-30 with power windows , locks , tilt and cold A.C. The windows are slow , the locks have never worked since I have owned the truck . The seat has been recovered in 2009 period correct black vinal . The headliner was replaced in 2009 along with the carpet . The door panels have been redyed . The dash is painted the exterior color of the wrecker . The lightbar is a 4 rotator Code 3 excalliber series with LED stop/tail/turn lights . The tail lights are LEDs . The bed was sandblasted in 2009 , At that time the entire truck was epoxy primed , block sanded and painted in Victory red epoxy paint . (See photos before lettering was added) There is no rust on this truck . It has always been in this area since new . Most of its life it lived inside a garage . The engine is a 2010 G.M. Goodwrench 350 crate engine . ($1,880) It is still under warranty . The engine has 7,000 miles on it and has run Mobil 1 since start up . The transmision and rear axle have been freshened up and have Amsoil since their rebuild. The flywheel and clutch are new Napa . The truck has dual Napa XDT batteries .(The Cadillac of a wrecker battery) There are 6 new Kelly (Goodyear) tires with Phoenix USA simulators that are 3 months old . Everything on the A.C. system is new including the compressor ($1,250). The exhaust manifolds are new and it has new Flowmasters that are 2 weeks old . The radiator is a professionally reworked copper 3 row radiator backed up by 2 electric cooling fans for times of extended idling and the extra load of the A.C. compressor. This auction is for the wrecker only . Anything that you see on this wrecker that is not welded to the truck doesn't convey with the sale of the wrecker. I will sell anything on this wrecker to the winning bidder at a fair used price . I will also sell the truck turn key with everything that you see in the photos .The summer season of 2010 in this "bad" economy has far exceeded our expectations projections by double .I don't mind stating that this wrecker was built as a back up / parade truck and not as a primary . This truck has worked far more than I built it to do and I never planned on putting a full time driver behind the seat .I have another wrecker on the way in two weeks and truck # 7 has to go . This is a no reserve auction . The high bid will own this wrecker . It will be sold as true miles unknown as I live in a mileage exempt titling state .Current mileage is 85,520 and climbing . Today the truck has logged 379 miles in Marion and Dillon counties combined. This wrecker is not the worn out junk you see on Ebay . My towing company is making money and this wrecker shows it . I built this truck for up time in the field & old school style with no expense questioned . This wrecker is a light duty wrecker and will not do medium and heavy duty tows . These trucks can be beefed up in the rear spring area to prevent squat but I never did anything to it for fear of one of my drivers overloading the chassis . A set of supersprings would be the trick to prevent front end lift and rear end squat . All receipts will convey with this wrecker as most wear items on this wrecker are under still warranty . Fly in and drive this one home . It recently made a round trip to and from South Florida with no issues . This wrecker will stay in service until auctions end . At that time it will have all lettering removed , a full detail , and professional body shop paint touch up on the working end of the truck . This wrecker was helping during an accident winch out 2 hours before photos . The frayed cable in the photos will be repaired if it doesn't get done before the sale date . A $500 deposit is due within 24 hours of auctions end by Pay Pal . The balance is due within 7 days . International buyers pay actual shipping to the port , shipping abroad and customs cost . I can ship this wrecker anywhere in the lower 48 states . Contact me for a price quote at auctions end . Please call with what you have . Keith 843-464-0616On Jul-16-10 at 13:16:47 PDT, seller added the following information: The cable is now repaired . I had the Victory paint mixed today to touch up the wrecker body . To make my self clear this 1981 Chevrolet will drive anywhere you want it to go . Everything driveline related is either new or rebuilt . The trucks mileage just turned 86,000 today . If you want to ship this wrecker I will help you find a resonable shipper at no extra charge to you . All shipping cost are your responsibility . This wrecker will be sold to the highest bidder on Sunday .
