1955 Lotus MK VI .English registration # 187-MML ser # 13362. Frame up restoration just completed to a high standard. This car is one of the most significant early Lotus vehicles ever offered for sale on E-Bay. This is one of the very last MK VI chassis completed by Progress Chassis before the frame jigs were broken up. The car has been documented from new and had some interim features between the MKVI and MK VII . The car has some early race history in England including hillclimbs at Wiscomb and Prescott. The original owner sent an picture of the car at a race in 1957 showing the drop nose that the car had at that time. The Lotus features its original drivetrain that includes the 1175cc Ford competition engine that has undergone a full rebuild including 1'1/4 SU carbs and a new Aquaplane alloy head with header pipes and exhaust custom fabricated. the transmission was freshed and still has its original 3 speed Buckler close ratio gear box. The Body was removed from the frame at great expense and only the alloy panels that had signs of corrosion or cosmetic damage were replaced. The frame was checked for corrosion and repainted. The panels were then re-rivited back in their original position and the body repolished. The car was rewired and custom windshield brace was fabricated to fit the 2 original Brooklands screens. this Brace is fully interchangeable with the original windscreen depending upon the desired specification. The car comes with some fantastic extras that include a lighted Dealer lotus sign from the 70s that functions perfectly, a collection of Lotus Books and pictures and a full car cover and custom made toneo cover and a record of restoration invoices and photographs. Also included are letters from the original owner and Charles Helps who is the foremost Lotus VI expert in England. This car would be the centerpiece of any significant English car collection.
