This 1955 truck is in good shape. A 7 on the 1-10 scale. A friend restored this truck over 20 years ago and kept it out of the weather under a carport. He passed away and I have no place to keep it out of the weather so I decided to sell. It has a new brake job including the master cylinder. It has a new fuel tank and fuel gauge but the sending unit needs changed as the fuel gauge only goes up to a quarter tank. I installed a new wiring harness and a new windshield wiper assembly. The floor starter switch is now on the dash. The seat is in good shape. The truck has a small block 307 and a turbo 350 trans from a Chevelle. It starts right up and runs real strong with no smoke or noises out of the ordinary. It has a two barrel quadrajet carb and the choke works. The transmission leaks fluid if you let it sit for a while. The shift into third gear is delayed a bit but it shifts fine and does not slip. There is a new dual exhaust system installed. The body is very straight. The drivers door is a bit rusted but I found a rust free replacement that is not dented. The bed wood is in good shape but could use some varnish. The cab corners are solid and free of the usual rust. The cab top rail is also rust free. There is some rust under the boxes that you step into the truck but cleaning and treating is all that is needed. I do not believe there are any sheet metal replacement necessary anywhere. The front suspension is original and tight but needs shocks as the rubbers are shot on the bottom. The rearend is out of a late model truck. The interior is all 1955. It is good shape and still has the old three speed column shift that has been modified to shift the automatic transmission. Tastefully original with a modern flare. The heater box is not installed but I have it and have a new blower motor to go in it. Windshield is cracked but I have a replacement that goes with the sale and includes a new windshield gasket. The sale includes a replacement windshield and gasket, a rust free drivers door, new blower motor, a new brake light switch and a box of miscellaneous parts.. The title shows that this vehicle was damaged in the Katrina Hurricane. But I assure you that this is a solid and straight driving truck. It is a old truck and drives like one so know what you are looking at before you come see it.
