Vehicle Detail

It's time to let my Corvair go. I have 6 vehicles, I can only drive 1 at a time. That being said, let me tell you about it. I bought this car in the spring of 05 from the second owner. I have the original bill of sale, dated May 1964 indicating it had been the dealer's demo model. It was bought by a woman who drove it from then until apporximately 1995, when she sold it to a friend's son. He brought it from the Oregon high desert to my local community in Northern California. He had it for 10 years until I bought it, putting on only 1000 miles. The odometer rolled over to 69,000 miles while I was test driving it. Judging by the condition it was in, I don't believe that it had rolled prior. It simply had too little wear. Of the 5 years I've had it, at least 4 of those years it has been my daily driver. It has served me faithfully for about 25,000 miles. I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. I have had to replace maintenance items along the way, not surprising on a 40+ year old vehicle, but nothing has been changed for the sake of change other than the master cylinder. I did upgrade it to a dual chamber unit for safety reasons. I also added seatbelts to the rear so I could take my kids with me. They are very similar to the fronts, probably never even notice them unless I mentioned it. This car is a blast to drive. With 4 wheel independent suspension and the 102 hp 4 speed combination it will surprise you. It is very light weight and even though 102 hp doesn't sound impressive, it will get up and move. It also rides very well. The brakes, steering and suspension are all in great shape. It steers and stops like it is new. It does have small rust issues. Both the front and rear of the passenger side door have bubbles on them. It did have some rust in the rear window area, I had it fixed a couple of years ago. There is also some surface rust in the bottom of the trunk. It was leaking when I got it. I've since replaced the seal and no further leaks have occured. Beyond that, the body is rust free to my knowledge. I can take pictures of any other areas that you may be concerned about. If you have any questions feel free to contact me through ebay or call my cell at 707-362-3373. Evenings are best, as I'm not supposed to be on the phone at work during the day. Thanks for looking.
