Vehicle Detail
I have made a few changes in this listing since getting the pics to load. Please read again for additional info. Up for sale is probably the best buy on eBay if you are looking for an unfinished traditional style street rod/barn find that needs little to complete. We are selling this and a few other Model A parts on consignment for somebody who lost his job and needs the cash. His loss is your gain. The body is a modified 1928 Ford hi-boy Hot Rod Roadster type truck with an extended cab and a shortened box. This is a steel body and bed, not a fiberglass reproduction. No dents, no dings, no rust. The box is 2 feet long and can be easily removed if you want to run without it. This old hot rod sold a few weeks ago but the buyer decided he didnt want it after all. If you bid please make sure you can come up with the money so I don't have to list it a third time. Several people wanted this truck to put a small block in so this time around I'm selling it without the engine and transmission. I have reduced the price and the engine and transmission are not included at this reduced price. They are available in another sale if you want them for $1500.The engine is a 1939 Ford Flathead V8 I'm told, as are the transmission and the front and rear axles. The engine has Weiand aluminum heads and a Fenton aluminum intake manifold with a pair of 2 barrel carbs. The engine turns over and is not complete but I have some of the parts needed that are not shown in the pics. Not shown is the starter, distributor, and some other parts that will be included with the engine. The wheels included at this price are stock steel 15 inch Ford rims with tires that are just good enough to roll around the shop. The wire wheels shown in the pic are 1935 or 36 Ford 16 inchers and are listed in another auction if you want to upgrade. The windshield glass looks to be in good shape and is not cracked or crazed. The body is mint and very straight. The body work was performed by a professional bodyman, not an amatuer, and is ready for paint. Its currently in black primer and looks to be ready to scuff and paint. The frame, axles, and engine have been painted awhile back but could use a fresh coat. The interior consists of just a bench seat. The stock gas tank is solid and looks like it will not leak. We can paint the body for an additional $500. If you need a title I can get one for about $100. This truck is what many would call a vintage barn find and too nice for a rat rod. It's still dirty and dusty from sitting but clean and paint it or keep the patina. The build of this old Street Rod was started in the 1960s and was never finished. It's been sitting for many years. This old Hot Rod has just the right amount of rake and looks perfect for vintage events. Could be completed in just a few weekends. With all of the hard work done, you can finish with the lights etc that you would like to have. If you want us to we can complete this project to your specs for a reasonable fee. We also have a 1930 Model A pick up truck frame with clear title and the front and rear axles available in another auction.
