Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my 1956 Ford F-100 pickup truck. See the attached pictures; you can see the truck is in BARE METAL. With the truck in bare metal you can see what you are buying vs. buying a painted truck that might be full of bondo. There is no body filler in this truck, see for yourself. I have owned this truck for 9 years. I bought this truck with the intention of building the ultimate ’56 F-100 show truck. I looked for a long time for a truck that was solid, because I did not want to spend a lot of money on body work and rust repair. I was looking for an all steel truck because I didn’t want to end up with a wavy, cobbled-together truck full of bondo. I found the truck in Vincennes, Indiana and owner claimed he had bought the truck out of Arizona. I was skeptical but decided to go look at it. To my amazement, the truck was in excellent condition. The floor pans were solid, the cab corners were not rotten, the bottoms of the doors were all steel with no patch panels, and the fenders and inner fenders looked great and were rust free. So I decided to buy the truck as it was the perfect platform for this custom truck build. After 9 years I’ve decided to sell it because I just don’t have the extra time and money to complete this project. The truck does have a clear title. BODY Once I bought the truck, I took the body off of the frame and had the paint chemically stripped by Redi-Strip out of Evansville, Indiana. This took all of the paint off of the body and showed me how incredibly solid the body was. Once the paint was removed, 2 minor modifications were made to the body: Big Back Window Kit Installed: A big back window kit was professionally installed. This was completed by Randy Ferguson of Ferguson Coach Building in Robinson, IL. You can visit his website at: www.fergusoncoachbuilding.com. Randy is a renowned metal man known for hand-building Willy’s bodies. Check out his website for examples of his work. Randy TIG welded and finished the lower seam of the window frame and you can’t even see the seam. The top seam was tacked into place because I wasn’t sure if I wanted no seam (a smooth look) or a seam (original look). You can see both seams in my pictures. You can also see that NO BONDO was used in the installation of this kit. It was my intention to keep this truck all steel. Smoothed Hole for Gas Filler Neck: The hole on the passenger side of the cab for the gas filler neck was filled in with a hand-formed steel patch and was TIG welded in place by Ferguson Coach Building. Randy did a great job and you can’t tell there ever was a hole there. Again, no Bondo was used for this body modification and is very smooth, it’s basically invisible. Other than that, the body is stock. The dash is uncut and original. I believe all of the body panels are original except for the rear fenders. The previous owner said this truck had rear fenders with the space cut out for the spare tire so he bought another set of fenders without the cut out for the spare. He said they were off a ’64 F100 but I can’t tell if they are Ford originals or aftermarket. Regardless they are in great shape and not rusted out. Overall the body is in great shape. It is very straight and won’t need much in the way of body work. The body was recently cleaned with Naval jelly, that is why it appears to have a white film on the surface. This will help protect the metal until it is primed. This film is easily removed with solvent. There are a few small dents here and there but they can be repaired without the use of body filler. There are a few pin holes in the cab corners on the passenger side, but it’s nothing a few spot welds from a MIG or TIG welder couldn’t take care of. Also it looks like the truck may have had larger mirrors on them so there are a few holes in the doors where the large mirrors mounted; again they can be filled in quite easily with a MIG welder. CHASSIS The chassis is in good condition. It has a 223 inline 6 cylinder engine that runs well with no smoke. It does have the slightest bit of hesitation during acceleration; I think the single barrel Holley carb just needs to be cleaned. If you wish to use this engine, it could use a muffler and the air cleaner. I can’t find the air cleaner assembly that was on it. The engine is backed by a 3-speed manual transmission. The chassis does have new brake lines and a new parking brake cable. The brake cylinder does leak a little brake fluid. All of the electrical components work like they are supposed to. The head lights, marker lights, turn signals, brake lights, tail lights, and horn work as they should. Also the windshield wiper motor and heater motor also work just fine. However, I could not get the gas gauge to work properly. Overall this truck is in good mechanical condition. It does run and drive and will easy load itself onto a trailer. ADDITIONAL PARTS INCLUDED I have some extra parts that are included with the truck but not bolted on the truck: · Windshield – it is in great usable condition, I just didn’t put it back in the truck · Rear Bumper – It’s in good condition, it would be on the truck but I don’t have a set of rear bumper brackets. · Misc Small Parts – Such as door hardware, a few extra badges. · Original Owners Manual – It’s in great shape and is great to read. The only major parts that I don’t have for the truck is the door glass, big back window glass, bench seat, and rear bumper brackets. Other than that, the truck is complete. ADDITIONAL PHOTOS AND VIDEO You can find a lot more pictures and even 3 videos of the truck at this web address: http://s583.photobucket.com/albums/ss276/elmccoy82/1956%20Ford%20F100/ OVERALL This is one of the most solid original 1956 F100s I have ever seen. It does not have the typical rust between the rear fender and running board. It does not have the typical rust in the front point of the front fenders. It has its original floor pans and cab corners and the cab is not rotten just above the drip rail as you see on a lot of these old trucks. The bottoms of the doors are not rusted out. This leads me to believe it was an original Arizona truck. It’s perfect for someone looking for a great start for a hot rod of restoration project because it doesn’t need much body work. PRICING I’ve been watching some of these trucks sell. I’ve looked for trucks similar to mine. To give you an idea on what I’m looking for in terms of price, search for eBay auction #150419474751. You can search for the number and the auction will come up. The pictures not available anymore on eBay but I saved the pictures of this truck. You can see them at this link: http://s583.photobucket.com/albums/ss276/elmccoy82/150419474751AuctionF100/ This truck out of Bakersfield sold for $8199. This truck was very similar to mine so that gives you a ball park price to what I’m looking to get out of this my truck. However, the reserve is less than $8200. The truck is for sale locally so I would be open to offers, just send me an email. SHIPPING Of course you can pick the truck up at my home in Waterloo, Iowa. If you want the truck shipped to you, the buyer will be responsible for arranging the shipping. I will help the trucking company load the truck by driving it up onto the trailer. If you are going to have it shipped, I would recommend covered transportation as you wouldn’t want this bare metal truck to go through a rain storm uncovered. QUESTIONS? If you have any questions feel free to email me with your question and/or your phone number and we can talk about the truck. I’ve tried to describe this truck the best that I can and know you will be pleased with it. This truck is sold as-is with no warranty. Thanks for your interest.
