1964 BUICK SKYLARK RARE SPORT STATION WAGON SKYTOP ROOF! THIRD SEAT! FACTORY A/C AIR CONDITIONING UNRESTORED ORIGINAL CAR HELLO, THIS IS A VERY RARE 1964 BUICK SKYLARK 3RD SEAT FACTORY SKYTOP SPORT WAGON. BOUGHT NEW AT BEN DREILING BUICK IN HAYS KANSAS IN 1964. COLORADO CAR REST OF ITS LIFE. - NICE OPTIONS: FACTORY A/C , POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKES, RARE REAR FORWARD FACING THIRD SEAT, 300 V8 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION - THIS SPORT WAGON IS IN GREAT ORIGINAL UNTOUCHED CONDITION UNRESTORED. THIS WAGON HAS SAT SINCE 1979 IN A BARN SHED IN THE DESERT WEST FOR 30 YEARS. WAS A DAILY DRIVER UNTILL THEN WHEN A ROD BROKE. THE ENGINE TURNS OVER FINE BUT THE BLOCK WILL NEED REPLACED WITH A NEW 300 MAIN BLOCK AS THERE IS A SMALL CRACK JUST NEXT TO THE OIL FILTER CANISTER. EVERYTHING IS THERE ON THE MOTOR AND IN GREAT SHAPE AND FUNCTIONAL. A BATTERY WAS INSTALLED TO CHECK ALL SYSTEMS AND THE MOTOR TURNED OVER FINE AND THE ELECTRICAL FUNCTIONS ALL OPERATE FINE. A/C FAN AND THE REST ALL CHECKED OUT OK. I HAVE LOCATED A NEW 1964 V8 300 BLOCK TO SWAP OUT WITH THIS ORIGINAL 300 ENGINE MAIN BLOCK TO KEEP IT ALL STOCK AND MATCHING. IT IS AVAILIBLE FOR $200 AND IS IN MN. AT THIS TIME. ACCORDING TO THE PAST OWNER, THE ENGINE AND TRANNY WERE IN GREAT OPERATIONAL CONDITION JUST BEFORE STORING. THE 300 ENGINE WOULD BE A EASY REBUILD WITH THE CURRENT ENGINE AND THE NEW 300 BLOCK FOR THE CORE. OVERALL CARS CONDITION OF THE MAIN BODY IS VERY GOOD. THE FLOORS AND BODY ARE 96% RUST FREE AND SOLID. THE 4% IS IN VERY MINOR AREAS THAT CAN BE QUICKLY REPAIRED. THE MAIN FLOORS AND FRAME ARE ALL SOLID. OLD BODY WORK, THE CAR WAS REPAIRED IN THE DRIVERS REAR TAIL LIGHT AREA FOR A MINOR DENT AND THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT FENDER HAD A SLIGHT DENT. THESE WERE REPAIRED WAY BACK IN THE 60'S AND THAT WAS THE LAST WORK DONE ON THE CAR BODYWISE. PAINT HAS ALL FADED FROM DESERT SUN AND SOME NEW WHITE PRIMER WAS ADDED TO SOME AREAS FOR NEW PROTECTION TO EXPOSED BARE METAL. DOOR WEATHER STRIPPING IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND ALMOST NEW LOOKING AND SOFT. INTERIOR IS OK FOR THE YEAR AND WILL NEED MINOR REPAIRS TO KEEP ALL ORIGINAL. DOOR PANELS ARE VERY GOOD. ONLY ALTERATION WAS FRONT DOOR SPEAKERS LOWER FRONT DOORS. DASH HAS TWO CRACKS BUT STILL LOOKS OVERALL OK. CARPET IS ORIGINAL AND NEEDS REPLACED. HEADLINER NEEDS REPLACED ALSO. SOME INTERIOR THIN WINDOW TRIM ON SKYTOP WINDOWS HAS RUSTING FROM WATER LEAKAGE OVER THE YEARS AND WILL NEED ATTENDED TO. THE CAR HAS GREAT POTENTIAL FOR A RARE 64 SPORT WAGON RESTORATION. ALL GLASS IN GREAT SHAPE, FRONT WINDSHIELD IS BRAND NEW! ONE EXCEPTION IS THE WINDOW ON THE SKYTOP DRIVERS FRONT IS CRACKED. THESE ARE AVAILIBLE STILL ON LINE HERE. THE CAR HAS 4 ORIGINAL FACTORY STEEL WHEELS (REPAINTED INSIDE AND OUT) AND FACTORY SPINNER HUBCAPS WITH 4 BRAND NEW DAYTONA RADIAL S/R's TIRES AT OVER $400+ . NEW SPARK PLUGS AND FUEL FILTER, OIL FILTER ARE ALL NEW, AS WE WERE TUNING IT UP AND TRIED TO START THE CAR FINDING THE CRACKED BLOCK TO OUR DISAPOINTMENT. WE DONT HAVE TIME FOR THE NEW ENGINE SWAP, SO THIS ONE WILL HAVE TO GO ON TO THE NEXT BUICK WAGON MAN THAT SEES THE GREAT POTENTIAL IN THIS 64 SPORT WAGON. OTHER IMPORTANT NEW NOTES: ANOTHER CLEAN USED REAR BUMPER IS STILL COMING IN, AND WILL BE IN PLACE ASAP. I HAD TO REMOVE THE ORIGINAL REAR BUMPER FOR A BETTER ORIGINAL BUMPER THAT IS PERFECTLY STRAIGHT. THE ORIGINAL BUMPER HAD A GOOD DIMPLE AND I FOUND A MUCH BETTER ORIGINAL BUMPER. IT HAS ORIGINAL FACTORY CHROME THAT MATCHES THE FRONT BUMPERS SAME SHINE. IT ALSO HAS THE BACK-UP LIGHT STAINLESS INSERTS AND A LICENSE PLATE LIGHT. THE CAR ALSO HAS CURRENTLY WORKING AIR SHOCKS INSTALLED. JUST WANT TO BE CLEAR AND FAIR. THE CAR HAS SOME RUST, 4%-5% BUT NOT MUCH. IT HAS SEAM RUST ON THE SEAMS AT THE SKYTOP WINDOW AREA. IT IS MAINLY AT THE END PINCH WELDS THAT HAVE SPREAD. THIS IS A COMMON RUST AREA ON SKYTOP WINDOW CARS. ONE PIECE- THE REAR INTERIOR UPPER SKY TOP RIGHT TRIM PLATE WILL NEED REPLACED, AS IT IS RUSTED OUT ABOUT 40%. THE TAIL GATE HAS NO RUST AT ALL, IN SEAMS OR THE MAIN DOOR. THE SPARE TIRE WELL IS VERY GOOD WITH ONE VERY SMALL SPOT. THE DOOR SEAMS ARE ALMOST PERFECT SOME MINOR SPOTS. THE MAIN BODY AND FLOORS ARE ALL VERY GOOD WITH ONLY ONE / TWO PINHOLES ON LOWER REAR 1/4 PANEL BOTTOM. THER REAR FENDER TAIL LIGHT AND FRONT PASSENGER HEADLIGHT AREA HAVE REPAIR WITH SOME BONDO AS STATED IN THE AD. FOR THE PRICE IT IS GOING FOR NOW, I COULD PARTED THE CAR OUT FOR MUCH MORE THAN A OVERALL SALE RIGHT NOW...SO MANY REQUESTS FOR PARTS ON THIS CAR. TOO NICE AN ORIGINAL CAR TO DO THAT...I AM SORRY.
