up for auction is a real rare vintage japanese sports car! this is an un touched car that has been sitting in a carport since 1988. there was a reciept in the car for having the engine replaced in 1986 at a local dealer. the engine in the car says 18 RU on valve cover and the engine tag says 18RC on the hood! 18RU is 10-15 more horsepower than the RC (in my book thats an upgrade).i bought this from an estate to save it from a painful death from a crusher, or being reincarnated as a hyundai lol. I have removed all the garbage, pulled carpet and cleaned it up enough to see the floor boards (there is no rust through just minimal surface) and this is a very restorable car or parts for yours. I put a battery in it and gas in the carb float bowl and changed oil and it started on the third revolution, revd up smoothly, and ran till the carb was empty! the water pump started leaking instantly but this engine sounds strong. there was some damage to the front (wich is why i think it was parked) the rad, center valance or filler panel, and bezel was replaced, and the bumper is still missing. both door glasses are broke out, but all the other glass is good and the back windows roll up and down. the body has dents and dings and scratches everywhere (it was buried under a bunch of clutter). no keys and some knucklehead dented the trunk to get the lock out and drilled the tumblers on ignition switch. I hit the pin and took out the switch so new tumbler set will go right back in.
