Note: even though PayPal says that only deposits can be made through them - I think that's because of their $1,000 per day limit. Thanks for your interest!!! *THIS 1996 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN SE IS IN FAIR-GOOD CONDITION* THE INTERIOR/EXTERIOR HAVE SOME MINOR PROBLEMS LIKE LOOSE/MISSING HANDLES FROM THE FRONT SEAT BACKS AND THERE ARE SOME DINGS & DENTS ON THE PAINT (SEE PICTURES - THE FIRST 2 COLLAGES ARE OF THIS VAN FOR SALE - THE OTHER 2 ARE FROM ANOTHER DODGE CARAVAN JUST FOR REFERENCE AS SOME COMPONENTS/DETAILS ARE SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT). THE AIR CONDITIONING, HEATER/DEFROSTER, REAR DEFOGGER, POWER WINDOWS WORK GREAT!!!. THE MIDDLE BENCH SEAT HAS BEEN REPLACED WITH 2 LEATHER "CAPTAINS" CHAIRS TO GIVE THE VAN "QUAD-SEATING" - IT STILL SEATS 7 PEOPLE - THE MIDDLE 2 ARE JUST NOW MORE COMFORTABLE!!! THE MIDDLE BENCH WILL BE GIVEN TO THE PURCHASER ON THE VAN AS A SPARE, OR BACK-UP TO THE CAPTAIN'S SEATS!!!!! THE FOLLOWING IS A SUMMARY OF KNOW ISSUES/POTENTIAL AREAS IN NEED OF ATTENTION: This minivan starts and runs - it currently needs a new Coolant Temperature Sensor (<$20 at local part stores - just haven't been well enough to pursue it). The van has had a new Alternator, Serpentine Belt, Serpentine Belt Tensioner and Engine Control Module (ECM - engine computer) within the last 6 months. Once the Coolant Temperature Sensor is replaced - the Alternator output voltage needs to be measured. Something is currently dragging the voltage down to 12.5-13.0 VDC vice the 15.0+ VDC that should be available across the battery when running. A certified Mechanic has told us that the Coolant Temperature Sensor is the likely cause as he traced the problem to that sensor (or it's wiring harness back to the ECM). If the voltage doesn't come up upon Coolant Temperature Sensor replacement - the Wiring Harness from the Coolant Temperature Sensor to the ECM will need to be ohmed out. There is a Lifetime Warrantied Factory recall on the "Clockspring Mechanism" (in the steering column). I have a copy of the Consumer Recall Notice - again, just haven't been well enough to take it in since the symptoms of the recalled part just began several months ago, and I've been very ill. The symptoms include continual dashboard Airbag Warning display, and no Horn or Cruise Control. The Airbag Control and Horn Operation are both safety issues - so the van should be taken to the nearest Dodge Dealer as soon as possible after purchase. The repair is not complicated - but the safety issues involved are important - once more, I just haven't been well enough to follow-up on a fairly simple and FREE repair. The last item of major note is that the Automatic Transaxle will likely need servicing and a slow leak at the Transaxle-Engine Seal looked at/repaired. A minor issue is the need for a new Windshield Washer Pump (on the reservoir bottom) for the front windshield that has low pressure. The rear windshield wiper fluid pumps fine - the front is weak. I traced out the tubing under the engine cowling before I became too ill to work on the van anymore - so I believe it needs a new pump, something is blocking the pump intake in the Windshield Washer Fluid Reservoir, or the tubing may be cracked on the underside (I have never seen a drip so it's likely the pump - $15-20 at a local parts store). Another somewhat minor issue is that the Dual Sliding Door Lock Mechanisms need to be looked at - they still lock & unlock manually so there's no safety issue. The Brakes have been done within the last year, both Front Tires replaced, the Front Struts replaced with Heavy Duty Struts, the Tie Rods/Ends & Sway Bar Linkage replaced. The Oil Pan Gasket, Valve Cover Gaskets, Water Pump & Radiator Hoses have been replaced within the last 18 month to 2 years. The Rack (& Pinion) was replaced a couple of years ago, along with the Rear Shocks. THE ENGINE, SUSPENSION/STEERING, BRAKES AND COOLING SYSTEM HAVE ALL BEEN WORKED ON RECENTLY AND SHOULD CONTINUE WORKING FINE. THE AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE IS THE ONLY MAJOR ISSUE MAKING THE VAN MORE "FAIR" THAN "GOOD" ACCORDING TO KELLY BLUE BOOK (KBB) GUIDELINES. THE EXHAUST SYSTEM & EMISSIONS CONTROL ARE WORKING GREAT AND THE VAN HAS PASSED WASHINGTON EMISSIONS REPEATEDLY OVER THE YEARS WE'VE OWNED IT - THE WASHINGTON STATE PLATES/REGISTRATION IS GOOD THROUGH 02/2011.
