Up for bids is a nice 29 year old, 1981 VW LX Caddy diesel pickup. 4cly VW diesel engine, 5 speed manual trans., Factory AC, and shows 184,879 miles but will be sold exempt. This truck was a local owner that he owned since 1999. I just drove this truck over 125 miles at between 60 & 65 mph with no problems. It runs drives and looks good. No rust through, just some surface rust from graval rash on the lower panels. It has a small fuel leak somewhere on the pump but does not seem to leak all the time. Looks to have all it's original paint. The speedo, clock, and fuel gauge work as does the Kenwood stereo. The AC looks to be all there and the belt is on the compressor but will need to be charged to see if it works. All the glass is good but the right wing window is out and will need to be reinstalled. It has the cloth bucket seats and carpet. The drivers seat shows some wear but it is 29 years old. This is a NO RESERVE auction so if you want it BID TO WIN!!!!! Over all it's in good shape for it's age and miles. Should get 35 to 40 mpg depending on how you drive it, IT'S NO SPEED DEMON!!!
