Vehicle Detail

About the Mini The Mini has been a loyal companion to me since April 2006, when I bought it as a certified pre-owned from the dealer in Princeton, having a mileage of 41,232 miles. Fast forward to today, the Mini has slightly less than 109,000 miles, most of them from commuting on the highway. Until the end of its extended warranty plan, which was beginning of 2009, the Mini has been serviced at the dealer in Princeton. Equipment and Extras 6-speed manual transmission, 163-horsepower, 4-cylinder engine The 6-speed manual transmission gives you more control compared to regular 5-speed transmissions or automatic transmissions. 6 gears give you shorter shift-cycles with two positive effects: Power and acceleration when necessary, and lower gas consumptions during regular driving. The 4-cylinder engine provides as much power per cylinder as "regular" sporty cars, and since the car is much smaller, it gives you the same driving fun as any 6-cylinder car. Low Gas Consumption The car is small and therefore does not need much gas. 22/31MPG are the values that can be found on fueleconomy.gov and pretty much reflect what you really get. With one filling you will be able to travel for about 300-350 miles on the highway. Premium Package The premium package adds three things to the Mini: A sunroof, an onboard computer, and cruise control. The big sunroof gives you a feeling that is as close as possible to a convertible, even if it is not open. The on-board computer shows average gas consumption, average speed, temperature, trip distance and remaining distance. And cruise control does what it says, even though it is a manual car. Cold Weather Package This is the perfect package for the winter: Heated front seats (very important in winter), heated side mirrors (no more readjusting the mirrors after de-icing), and heated windshield-washer jets. It also provides rain-sensing wipers, and an auto-dimming mirror (which is important if somebody behind you forgets to switch off the high-beams). Leather Seats All seats, front and back, are made of premium black leather that make driving the car very comfortable. The seats also provide faster and more comfortable heat in winter when compared to regular fabric seats. Harman-Kardon Sound System with In-dash CD Player and changer preparation The sound system has 6 speakers and deliver strong, yet clear music, no matter which type of music you hear. It comes with an In-dash slot-in CD player and the trunk has cables that prepare it for a CD changer. Xenon Headlights with Power Wash, Foglights These headlights provide a clear white light that adds safety and better visibility during the night. Xenon headlights literally last forever, I replaced both at 95,000 miles for the first(!) time. Whenever you clean the windshield, the headlights will also be cleaned on each side with a blast of water. This means you will always have excellent visibility because of clean headlights. And the Mini has Foghlights, too. Dynamic Stability Control For a safer driving experience. The Mini has enough power to make the front wheels easily spin with deactivated DSC. With the DSC, the wheels automatically slow down whenever they tend to spin. In case you get stuck in the snow, or on a muddy road, you can easily deactivate the DSC and manually work yourself out of the situation. Mechanical Condition Mechanically, the Mini is in very good condition, and the following things have recently been done: New flywheel and clutch, rebuild of transmission at 85,000 miles New Xenon headlights at 95,000 miles New bushings at 95,000 miles New front brakes (rotors and pads) at 95,000 miles New rear brakes (rotors and pads) at 105,000 miles New front tires at 100,000 miles New cooling tank at 105,000 miles Optical corrections have been done due to two bumper to bumper accidents beginning of this year. As you can see, the effects are only optical and could easily be fixed by replacing the bumpers.
