Vehicle Detail
A great project! 1930 Model A Ford fordor sedan. Murray body. Most everything is there. Engine, transmission and drive line included. Transmission seems to be fine, but hasn't been driven. The engine has been cleaned up and started - but has a bad compression situation. The body is solid, although with surface rust. DOES NOT seem to have rust-through on the cowels or door bottoms. Left fenders need minor repair (see pix). Gutters are off, but with it. Mechanical brakes and parking brake function. It has been stored inside for the past couple of years. THIS EARLY 30 MODEL A HAS AN EXTREMELY RARE 'EYELID' RIGHT FRONT FENDER (see photos). The doors close really well. Glass in back and fixed rear side windows is fine. Rear right door glass is fine. Other door glass is broken, but mechanisms seem to be there. The winshield glass needs to be replaced and the assembly is currently off. Needs interior wood and upholstery, but has seat springs with it. Listing is below our cost, for a "quick sale" !! Buyer is responsible for pickup, or for shipping and any insurance or fees required. It is located in Concord, (SF East Bay Area) California, and I will deliver with payment in full, for $1 per mile (one way according to MapQuest) anywhere in California, So. Oregon, or No. Nevada. This is an unregistered car (long lost barn find), and is sold as-is and as a restorable parts vehicle only. $500 deposit via PayPal required within 2 days of auction, balance in cash or PayPal before it leaves the garage. Payment in full within 7 days. Please ask any questions before you bid.On Jun-06-10 at 17:32:04 PDT, seller added the following information: Take a look at the cowl photo. A helpful fellow e-bayer has informed me that this type of cowl band is also quite rare and was produced for a very short time (like the eyelid fender). This cowl band goes all the way down to the top of the splash pans, and the body belt molding is indented to match it. The cowl band is in pretty good shape and quite restorable with a few smaller dings in it. The band is also probably not available in repro. The car is a very early 1930, but I have not looked under the body for the serial number.
