For the past seventeen years, we have been a licensed Automobile Dealership in Philadelphia, PA, primarily in the automobile wholesale business selling to other dealerships. We are located at 5011 Torresdale Avenue and we are now listing select vehicles for sale to the public as well. This car was actually a trade-in by the owner toward a brand new vehicle, but I can’t ever remember ever having a VW Squareback in our dealership for the past 17 years that we have been in business. I don’t know much about these cars, but I’ll tell you everything I do know based on our safety inspection and test drive. It is fairly obvious that this car has experienced some restoration over the years, and it appears to be a well treated vehicle. This VW starts up easily, and the engine runs smoothly without any noises or smoking. The transmission shifts well and the clutch engages smoothly. This car has a Hurst shifter, which works well. I believe the shift linkage could use an adjustment because it can slip out of reverse sometimes, but there aren’t any problems in any other gears. A full set of BF Goodrich tires were installed recently by the owner. The brake pads are all in good shape as well. The oil was just changed. This car runs and drives very well. The suspension and steering feel good, and there aren’t any rattles or noises. The odometer reads 27k miles, but I don’t know if that is the actual miles or if it even works, but the speedometer does work, as do the lights and wipers. I don’t know how some of the other things in this car operate including how to open the front hood compartment, so I couldn’t take a picture. The body on this car looks great. It was obviously refinished at some point, probably a number or years ago. I don’t know the problem areas on these cars but there are some bubbled rust spots, mostly along the bottom edges but nothing too bad. The paint looks great and is shiny. The bumpers and trim are also in great shape. There aren’t any cracked or damaged windows. The doors and trunk feel nice and tight and close with a nice thunk. This car really does present nicely, and turned quite a few heads on my test drive. ** Note: The white looking squiggly line on the front of this car on the left side is a reflection coming off of the bumper. There is no mark there. I would consider the interior of this VW to be very clean and in great shape. There isn’t any damage on the seats other than some loose piping on the seat edges. The carpet is also in great shape. I presume that the seats and the carpeting were both replaced at some point. The interior trim is also in great shape, and the dash has only one crack. The headliner is tight and fully intact. There aren’t any smoke odors or other unpleasant interior odors inside this car. Pickup of the vehicle is within ten days of auction completion. The acceptable methods of payment are Bank Wire Transfer, Bank Money Order, Certified check, Finance Company Loan Check, Direct Deposit or Cash in person. We do not offer financing. Down payments are non refundable. We do not accept trade ins. Any guarantee offer for this vehicle will be voided if payments are not made according to terms. WARRANTY: This vehicle will be sold AS-IS with no warranty expressed or implied by the seller. However, the buyer will be offered the option to purchase an additional Extended Service Warranty for all applicable vehicles. The title is guaranteed to be free and clear. There will be no liens or encumbrances on the title. The stated odometer reading is within +/- 500 miles. PICK-UP: We are approximately 15-minutes from Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), the Amtrak 30th Street Train Station, and the Greyhound Philadelphia Bus Station. We may be able to pick you up at any of these stations, so please inquire if interested. We are open from 9AM to 5PM weekdays only, and are closed on weekends. However, for those wishing to pickup vehicles on a Saturday morning, we may be able to arrange that for an additional fee of $50. Please check with us for availability before making plans. REGISTRATION, TITLES & FEES: Out of state purchasers do not pay any Pennsylvania sales tax. A $60 fee will be added to the final sale price of each online transaction, which will cover document fees and preparation, notarizations, and FedEx or expedited courier costs. Temporary Transit Tags are available through the state of PA for $40, which will provide valid registration for a period of 30 days. In order to obtain this tag, please provide proof of insurance for any vehicle that you presently own. The title is immediately available to the buyer upon full certified payment, and if certified payment is confirmed by your bank. Otherwise, the title will be sent to you after payments are confirmed. Occasionally, a title is still being processed by the state and we will issue free temporary registration. All vehicles we sell on eBay are stored in a secured facility. Because we have limited storage space, we require that all vehicles be picked up within ten days of auction completion. We can sometimes allow a few extra days for pickup if needed, depending on the type of vehicle. Storage charges after ten days will be charged at $15/day. We also sell vehicles locally and reserve the right to cancel this auction at any time.
