Vehicle Detail

This is a Classic SUV folks built by International Harvester in 1969 . The IH Scouts were really way a head of their time ! If they could have survived the 1980's they would have been ahead of the other SUV's when the big SUV Craze started in the 1990's and all car companies starting bulding SUV's! These IH Scouts were built like the big IH trucks "bullet proof" . Ask anyone that owns one. This Scout is equipped with the big 304 V8 engine, 4 speed gearbox, dual fuel tanks and power lock rear end. I have owned it for the last 6 years and it is a very strong runner and Stock like the day it was built. The V8 runs strong , starts easy and will set you back in the seat . It has a California emissions label but I have some of the original receipts indicated that tires and parts were purchased in Southern Oregon ( Ashland, OR ) which is very dry and unlike most of Western OR and I was told they do not use road salt down there. The body is without rust penetration . The entire body and ( I have down some creeping around ) is without so much as a bubble. It's pretty amazing as this early SUV has virtually no undercoating . The paint is the original Red finish, so what you see is the real deal folks after 41 long years . There are some minor dings but I have seen no evidence of any accident repair. The interior headliner was missing when I bought the vehicle but could be replaced . The roof has some dings that could be straightened . It has 74,018 miles . The transmission shifts well up and down without protest. All of the 4WD system and the rear end work as they should. The brakes work as good as can be expected for drum brakes. The tires are nearly new from Les Schwab and of the passenger car type that can attest this rig being used on the pavement. I believe even the floor mats are original. It has the IH Scout rear seat which is usually missing and hard to find. The dash is stock without extra holes. The dash pad has no cracks . The rear tailgate is in near mint condition and has the IH Scout Spare carrier . I also have the IH Line setting ticket for the building of this vehicle I had this honey in my garage the last 6 years and by the look of it appears to have spent most of its life inside when not being driven. I am a Non-Smoker as well. Where else will you find a 69 800A this nice folks? It is not perfect but a real nice original unmolested model of a great historical vehicle and best of all it is a Red color that is close to the IH Red used on their famous tractors ! When I bought this vehicle I planned to do a full restore but then we did a major home remodel that got way out of hand and several times beyond original budget. So that put these plans to rest. But my loss is your gain with such a nice original rig! Vehicle can be stored in current location (garaged) for up to 2 weeks from end of auction. Sale is final at auction end.
