You're bidding on a 1984 Mazda Rx-7 with a Gran Torino 351 Windsor V8 Engine Swap 45,000 Original Miles On Drivetrain. The Rear end gear ratio is 4.10 The car originally came with a 1.1L 100HP Engine, it's now equipped with a 5.8L V8 with nearly 300HP and triple the torque. This car has a slightly higher power to weight ratio than a new corvette... This car was built with all custom pieces including custom balanced driveshaft, engine and transmission mounts & more. See www.grannysspeedshop.com for more information. The car needs a few things finished before it will be road worthy, these things are. Exhaust finished (Currently running open headers) Transmission linkage adjusted - Will drive onto a trailer. Carburator accelerator pump replaced. New fuel pump that's installed needs to be wired up to a switch. Some body work on the passenger 1/4 panel. A few small other things. The engine is 100% stock so there is a lot of potential for upgrades, the car as it sits when finished with run a low 12 high 1/4 mile stock. The stock hood will not close all the way due to the 351w deck height, you will need to cut a hole and install a hood scoop. This is a one of a kind car and a killer sleeper. On May-31-10 at 22:37:21 PDT, seller added the following information: I just wanted to add a few things that I might of missed that will help the buyer. All the gauges work with adapter's that were installed except the tach, that will need to be recalibrated (Granny's offers this for $55). The car does not overheat, it's currently running the stock radiator (which does quite well) and a ford taurus electric fan. It had a new fuel pump & filter installed in the past week. My reserve is a lot lower than it would cost to build this, the engine alone is worth $500+ It's a small project that someone needs to put a little work into (carb+finish exhaust) and the car could be driven while the rest of finished. Included are two silver front fenders, two silver doors and an extra leather door panel. Some info on the car itself. Rear end is stock with the gear ratio of 4.10, it won't last long if you put a pair of slicks on it and go beat it at the drag strip but regular cruising will not hurt it. The car weighed 2350 with the rotary, an estimate on the weight now would be 2650, doesn't take a lot of horsepower to go fast with that weight. Also I have no problem helping the next owner with anything, questions or the otherwise. The only reason I am selling the car is I want to either get another Rx-7 or a older street bike. In Iowa and other states you can have this car looked at by a person and then be given a "prior salvage" title after they show that the car has been repaired professionally and everything is as it should be, this car will not have a problem getting that, I've looked the vehicle over many times from top to bottom and I would of never knew.
