Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a 1978 Ford Country Squire station wagon with 79,640 original miles. The car car is in running condition and currently "on the road." It is, however, 32 years old, so it is not perfect by any means. I bought it about a year ago, mainly out of nostalgia, but how am looking to raise some cash for a recent home improvement project! The following list is what I know is right and wrong with the car (I am not a mechanic). The GOOD: In the year I have owned it, the following repairs / upgrades have been made: new tires new battery new alternator new voltage regulator new starter motor new exhaust (however there is still a leak, but it's a LOT better than when I bought it.. it's not bad) new plugs & wires new choke pull-off there was some brake work done... brakes seem to be in good shape (no pulsating / firm pedal / stops when I want it to) Heater works fine Other GOOD things: Power windows work (EXCEPT passenger side front, which is stuck in the "up / closed" position) Rear power window works Engine sounds good; no pinging / knocking "Gets off the line" in a hurry! Great acceleration Shifts smoothly Has AM / FM radio (but see problem with it under "not so good") The NOT-SO-GOOD: Power steering leak. It passed NYS inspection about a year ago, technically, because it was not "dripping"; it is a slow leak (hoses are wet). However, once in a while, I have to top it off. The steering itself is good. Rough idle when warm. The mechanic I know says it may be a timing issue, I have no idea for sure. He turned up the idle to compensate, but it's still rough. Changing out the plugs and wires helped some. Takes a little while to start up when cold / sitting a few days (but it does fire up). Again, maybe a timing issue? Probably could use a real tune up. I think there is a leak in the gas tank. There is no gas on the ground, but when its filled above a half-tank, I can smell gas outside. The radio works, but the tuner sometimes gets stuck and you have to fool around with it to make it work The car's air conditioning blows out warm air instead of cold. And today, naturally, the rear-view mirror fell off. I still have it and will attempt to re-attach. If I cannot, it will come with the car. As for the body, I will let the pictures do the talking (both pro and con) Any questions, please feel free to ask! The car is in Rochester, NY. The winning bidder is free to pickup or have the car shipped to them at the bidder's expense.
