Winning five of the Sports Car Club of America's (SCCA) six divisions in 1965. They also won the 1966 manufacturers’ championship in the inaugural SCCA Trans-Am series, and repeated the win the following year. In late 1964, Ford contracted Holman & Moody to prepare ten 427-powered Mustangs to contest the NHRA. Here is a Very Special Opportunity to Own a Car apart of racing history. This is an all Numbers Matching K-Code Special Order Street Legal Race Car. This car never received the “Red Band Tires”, arrived at the dealer with stock steel wheels and White-wall tires, front racing tie-downs, Racing Seat belts, Front Disc Brakes, trunk battery tray and a fold down rear seat. Special ordered for Mid 60’s SCCA Trans-Am Racing, Auto-Cross Racing and Time Trials. This Mustang did the quarter mile at 13 sec with a top speed of 147 MPH. This is an extremely Original Numbers Matching 289HIPO K-Code GT, 4-Speed with Many Very Rare Original Racing upgrades. Also included with the car is some amazing documentation you just don’t see anymore, including a detailed Ledger that shows the first oil change at 700 miles on 7/16/65 and her first fuel on 7/22/65 with 2.7 gallons at only $1.00 total. Gas, Oil Change, repairs, tune-up's and more, from day one till 1992. This 1965 Mustang Fastback K-Code GT was purchased from Powel Motors in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The Mustang was a special order and became a part of “White Feather Racing”. Prior to racing the car had to go through some changes that are important to its history. To compete alongside with the Shelby’s, Corvettes and other race cars, this Mustangs Racing Performance parts are as follows. Ford Performance; New Traction Lock rear Axle, Rear Trac-Bars. Shelby America: Front Stabilizer Bar Kit; Part S1MK-5482-A, Sports Car 19:1 Steering Kit; Part S1MK-3590-A, Cobra Finned Cast Aluminum Oil Pan; Part S1MK-6675-A, Front Fender Support Bar; Part S1MK-29432-A. Shelby Upper A-Arm Lowering Kit and Rear Lowering kit. Rear Brake Racing Kit; Part S1MK-2208. Holman & Moody Inc: Engine Blueprinted with Cam. HIPO heads were Tunnel Ported. Jahns: Aluminum Alloy Forged Pistons. Norris Racing Cam: Grind# N282S. Many Other critical parts to racing are as follows: SW Racing Gauges: Oil Pressure, Temp, Vacuum and Pressure gauge. Ansen Wheels: Ansen Top Eliminator Mag Wheels and a Ansen Sprint Spare Wheel. Moto-Lita Racing Steering Wheel. Electric Fuel Pump. Hurst Shifter. Finned Valve Covers. Headman Headers. KYC Shocks. MSD Ignition (more recent). I was told that she raced with a Shelby High-Rise Intake and a 750 Holley Carb. These parts are the only known parts that were used to race that were removed due to performance issues. She currently has a Holley Double Pumper Carb and Edelbrock Intake. For racing; the cars emblems were removed, she was painted from its current “original” color to white, the qtr fenders were hand-rolled (flared) for larger tires as they still are. If you are not familiar with this process, this was done on many of the race cars and amazingly all done by hand, not cutting the original metal. The rear valance was changed from the Trumpet Tips for better performance (same as Shelby’s). With the Documentation that goes with the car; Original Parts Catalogs for all racing performance parts, Original Letters from Holman & Moody, Crane Cams, to Paxton are included. A few old Registrations are even included from 70s-80s. The Original Owners plan was to add a Paxton Super Charger to the car; however due to financial issues this car was removed from racing and that’s what probably saved her from disaster. Since her racing was prior to SCCA stiffer regulation with requiring a roll-cage, one was never installed. This car was amazingly never crashed or wrecked; she has her Original Uncut Body. Includedin the documents is even a Returned Check slip for an entry fee from Daytona International Speedway, a race that she never made and then was put into storage. I also will include in the documentation a CD that will have many of her Original Pictures as a White Race Car and back to Original color in Storage and many more. This is a VERY Original Unrestored K-Code HIPO Original Engine, 4-Speed trans and 9inch Rear, GT Fastback with Racing History...a Collectors Dream. Early K-Code, Shelby GT350’s and R-Code Mustangs proved successful in road racing. Winning five of the Sports Car Club of America's (SCCA) six divisions in 1965. They also won the 1966 manufacturers’ championship in the inaugural SCCA Trans-Am series, and repeated the win the following year. In late 1964, Ford contracted Holman & Moody to prepare ten 427-powered Mustangs to contest the NHRA. Here is a Very Special Opportunity to Own a Car apart of racing history. This is an all Numbers Matching K-Code Special Order Street Legal Race Car. This car never received the “Red Band Tires”, arrived at the dealer with stock steel wheels and White-wall tires, front racing tie-downs, Racing Seat belts, Front Disc Brakes, trunk battery tray and a fold down rear seat. Special ordered for Mid 60’s SCCA Trans-Am Racing, Auto-Cross Racing and Time Trials. This Mustang did the quarter mile at 13 sec with a top speed of 147 MPH. This is an extremely Original Numbers Matching 289HIPO K-Code GT, 4-Speed with Many Very Rare Original Racing upgrades. Also included with the car is some amazing documentation you just don’t see anymore, including a detailed Ledger that shows the first oil change at 700 miles on 7/16/65 and her first fuel on 7/22/65 with 2.7 gallons at only $1.00 total. Gas, Oil Change, repairs, tune-up's and more, from day one till 1992. This 1965 Mustang Fastback K-Code GT was purchased from Powel Motors in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The Mustang was a special order and became a part of “White Feather Racing”. Prior to racing the car had to go through some changes that are important to its history. To compete alongside with the Shelby’s, Corvettes and other race cars, this Mustangs Racing Performance parts are as follows. Ford Performance; New Traction Lock rear Axle, Rear Trac-Bars. Shelby America: Front Stabilizer Bar Kit; Part S1MK-5482-A, Sports Car 19:1 Steering Kit; Part S1MK-3590-A, Cobra Finned Cast Aluminum Oil Pan; Part S1MK-6675-A, Front Fender Support Bar; Part S1MK-29432-A. Shelby Upper A-Arm Lowering Kit and Rear Lowering kit. Rear Brake Racing Kit; Part S1MK-2208. Holman & Moody Inc: Engine Blueprinted with Cam. HIPO heads were Tunnel Ported. Jahns: Aluminum Alloy Forged Pistons. Norris Racing Cam: Grind# N282S. Many Other critical parts to racing are as follows: SW Racing Gauges: Oil Pressure, Temp, Vacuum and Pressure gauge. Ansen Wheels: Ansen Top Eliminator Mag Wheels and a Ansen Sprint Spare Wheel. Moto-Lita Racing Steering Wheel. Electric Fuel Pump. Hurst Shifter. Finned Valve Covers. Headman Headers. KYC Shocks. MSD Ignition (more recent). I was told that she raced with a Shelby High-Rise Intake and a 750 Holley Carb. These parts are the only known parts that were used to race that were removed due to performance issues. She currently has a Holley Double Pumper Carb and Edelbrock Intake. For racing; the cars emblems were removed, she was painted from its current “original” color to white, the qtr fenders were hand-rolled (flared) for larger tires as they still are. If you are not familiar with this process, this was done on many of the race cars and amazingly all done by hand, not cutting the original metal. The rear valance was changed from the Trumpet Tips for better performance (same as Shelby’s). With the Documentation that goes with the car; Original Parts Catalogs for all racing performance parts, Original Letters from Holman & Moody, Crane Cams, to Paxton are included. A few old Registrations are even included from 70s-80s. The Original Owners plan was to add a Paxton Super Charger to the car; however due to financial issues this car was removed from racing and that’s what probably saved her from disaster. Since her racing was prior to SCCA stiffer regulation with requiring a roll-cage, one was never installed. This car was amazingly never crashed or wrecked; she has her Original Uncut Body. Includedin the documents is even a Returned Check slip for an entry fee from Daytona International Speedway, a race that she never made and then was put into storage. I also will include in the documentation a CD that will have many of her Original Pictures as a White Race Car and back to Original color in Storage and many more. This is a VERY Original Unrestored K-Code HIPO Original Engine, 4-Speed trans and 9inch Rear, GT Fastback with Racing History...a Collectors Dream. Original Engine Tag, Door Tag, Fender Data Tag, Original 289 HIPO Emblems, GT Emblems and Original Keys are included.
