1985 PORSCHE 911 TARGA TURBO BODY. This is a very rare (1 of 65) m-491 optioned Porsche 911 Targa top. It is a 2 owner vehicle. My dad's business partner bought this fine automobile in 1987 from a Porsche dealer. At that time this car had just under 24000 miles. The car currently has only 42000 miles. I can truely attest to the accuracy of the mileage. I remember the day he brought it home from the dealership and have helped him maintain it since. It is only driven a limited number of miles each year. those miles have been restricted to nice weather days. This car is a time capsule. I had the pleasure of being afforded the opportunity to drive it on a few occasions in the late eighties. When I was behind the wheel of this car I was "the Man". This car has all of the desirable features a guy would want, Guards Red exterior, Black Interior, Whale Tail rear spoiler, and Really Wide Tires covered by Really Wide Fenders. Nothing beats the sound of a healthy air cooled Porsche. It is a sound that can't be replicated. Roll the calendar to current day and I am delighted to say not much has changed with this car since that time. Upon first sight you know this car is special. When you climb inside you are greeted with that "New Porsche Smell" and there is nothing else like it. This car has never been smoked in and the interior still has that genuine leather smell. There are no cracks, splits, excessive wear, or excuses anywhere. The targa top was recently replaced and is in excellent condition. Once this car is started you are immediately ready to hit the road and let the wind in your hair adjust your attitude. This car runs, shifts, steers, stops, and rides very smoothly. I can honestly say it drives as well as it did in 1985. This car has been well maintained. The tires are in excellent shape and have only a couple thousand miles on them. The oil is Mobil 1 and is current. I would not hesitate driving this car to either coast from here.
