Vehicle Detail

1984 Chevrolet Corvette 4+3 Transmission (4 manual speeds, 3 automatic overdrive) Convertible (after market) Ground Effects kit 96,000 miles (?) As shown on speedometer, but is not verifyable I purchased this car about 3 years ago. It had been sitting in a warehouse that a friend purchased. I have added new Michelin tires, new clutch & throw out bearing, new master/slave, new power steering pump, new A/C compressor, new headlight motors, new windshield, and a refreshed transmission. I’ve not pressurized the A/C system. I have been driving it once a week and the car seems to perform fine. There are some items you will want to consider in purchasing this car. The convertible top has a tear that needs to be sewn and it needs a new rear window. The seats are in tact, but need covers/reupholster. Several companies (some on ebay) offer a neoprene yellow & black seat cover that would be prefect for this convertible. The LED’s in the dash are faded and can flicker, but are generally readable. There are sellers on e-bay ( like item # 220573999400) that can refresh them. It’s not difficult to do and it looks like you can drive the car during the repair. The radio has power but does not work, just static in the speakers. Some of the bondo had come off the ground effects and there are other minor areas you may wish to refinish. There may be other things I haven’t noticed or don’t bother me, so feel free to ask questions. This car is a blast to drive. The 84 Corvette came with a Doug Nash 4 speed which has close gear ratios, so it’s quick off the line with a great sound. The 3 speed overdrive really lowers the RPM and can only be used when cruising down the highway. The 1984 Corvette is the first year of the C-4 series and the 4+3 did not come out until mid year, so there aren’t too many of these around. The car is a real head turner and attracts a lot of attention. I really hate to sell it, but I have a ’77 I am restoring from the ground up and I’m running out of funds. Car is sold as is, where is, no warranty. Buyer responsible for all shipping costs.
