I have a 1998 Dodge Avenger ES for sale that is going to be hard for me to get rid of. Let me explain exactly why I am selling this car. The car is currently not running. The reason it is not running is because I was driving down the road and my belt for the altenator and ac broke and somehow the belt strands got weasled into the timing belt cover and inbetween the timing sprocket and the timing belt. It caused the car to jump timing. Me and my father brought it to my house and tried to fix it ourselves. I dont know very much about cars but my dad does so we got to work. We got the new timing belt on and the car would not start.We tried to line it up to the specifications over and over but it would not start. My dad said that maybe it wasnt the correct setup and the timing was still off. Either that or it has a bent valve rod or push rod I dont remeber the exact term he used. So the worst thing would be that. I didnt have the money to take it to a mechanic so it has been sitting for about 6 months so I am lisitng it for 200 with no reserve to the highest bidder. I paid 5000.00 for the car plus I bought a new ECU, a new distributor and a new starter. So I have about 6000.00 in it. It will not start so it will have to be towwed or hauled off. I still have the parts disconnected and the mounts off from when we put on the new timing belt. They are all neatly in the trunk as you see in the pics. I took pics of the engine and the area where we installed the timing belt.I have a clear title and will make you a bill of sale since I will be accepting cash only. It has some nice 17" rims and tires with good tread still on tires - the owner told me he paid 3000 for the rims and tires which was really the buying point for me. I havent checked his claim that he paid that much but he is a trustworthy person. Plus the car has a nice stereo system. Here is a list of things about the car: Front Tires - NEXEN Radial N3000 215/40R17- excellent tread Back Tires - Grand Spirit Touring 215/50R17 -excellent tread American Racing 17" Chrome Rims Mileage - 137,987 Tow bar rear K&N Air filter Dark Window Tint Overdrive button on shifter Weighs about 4145 lbs has front bra but it is not on the car it is in trunk Stereo System - CD/tape player (factory) custom infiniti amp with custom pioneer speakers AC works, power door, window , and locks Leather Interior ( has tear in drivers seat) Tags and inspection are both expired in 09 Sunroof ( has slider in the trunk because the felt was coming off) sunroof opens and closes great it just dont have the slider cover on it I tried to take pics of all the chipped paint or dings but here is the details of things you might not see. ----drivers side door buttons are loose , small dent that can be pulled out on drivers side fender, drivers side fog light is missing, chipped paint on back and door handles , few scratches on bumper, cracked cup holder, small oil leak (dont know from where) , This auction is not a joke so serious bidders only. I am taking a gamble by going 200 with no reserve but you can guarantee that the highest bidder will take it home. I will not ship the item so you will have to pick it up.
