PHOENIX CHOP SHOP GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN _____________________________________________________________________________ 1968 FORD MUSTANG COUPE 1968 Ford Mustang V8 Motor & Automatic Transmission __________________________________________________________ Yesterday we picked up this 68' Mustang which had been parked in a garage for 4 years. The owner said it runs and drives, but there was no battery for us to test it. We are tossing in a nice set of Rocket Racing Wheels that we had in the shop, they have a set of 60's and set of 70's. Also, we have spoke with the owner who currently has 2 cars listed here with us, he said he has misc parts & trim that will fit this 68 Mustang car. If the winning bidder is interested, we will give you is contact # to call him. He said if he don't have the part you need, he can easily get it. Is there a title? Yes. Is there rust? Yes. If time permits this week, we will try to get a battery in the car, but we are extremely busy now, so we can not guarentee that will have time for it. We are not a auto repair shop, and we do not have a mechanic or equipment to repair engines. This is car is sold As-Is, no warranty. Please feel free to send us any questions or requests on any information you may have, and they will be forwarded on to the owner for a response. The winning bidder is responsible for any and all shipping / transportation arrangements and costs. A deposit of $100 due through Paypal within 24 hours after auction ends. The remaining balance is due in full 5 days after completion of auction. FEEDBACK and BIDDING: If you are interested in bidding on this car with less than 5 feedback, please contact us PRIOR TO PLACING YOUR BID. On May-24-10 at 01:28:44 PDT, seller added the following information: Be sure to visit our eBay store and see this weeks parts auction Auction Starts at $1 with No Reserve CHOP SHOP's WEEKLY SUMMER PARTS AUCTIONOn May-25-10 at 03:05:24 PDT, seller added the following information: WE WANT TO GET THIS MUSTANG IN YOUR GARAGE BY THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND!!!! LETS END THIS AUCTION, SO YOU CAN START MOVING IT! THE RESERVE PRICE >>>>>>>>>>WE DROPPED IT! NOW SET TO $1226!!! THE BUY IT NOW PRICE >>>>>>>>>WE DROPPED IT! NOW SET TO $2900!!! WE CAN'T GIVE THIS CAR AWAY, BUT PRETTY DARN CLOSE!!! GOOD LUCK & HAPPY BIDDING!!! On May-25-10 at 08:36:31 PDT, seller added the following information: THIS AFTERNOON, WE WILL BE WORKING ON GETTING A BATTERY IN THE CAR, ALONG WITH CHECKING THE FLUIDS. WE WILL HAVE TO DRAIN OUT THE OLD GAS BEFORE ATTEMPING TO CRANK IT OVER. WE WILL GIVE AN UPDATE LATER THIS EVENING On May-25-10 at 23:33:16 PDT, seller added the following information: MUSTANG UPDATE........Today we were able to spend the afternoon breathing life back into this Mustang. It's all good. We pumped out the fuel tank, and gave it a fresh shot of gas. Inspected and replace the vacuum lines, topped off the radiator, and gave the engine a good cleaning. We replaced the + battery cable, charged up a battery and dropped it in. With two good shots of Carb Cleaner, the motor cranked over and it fired right up. We run the engine for about 15 minutes. It idled great, and responded quick and felt good when given the throttle. ABOUT THE RUST. We listed the car here on eBay the following day after picking it up. Since we live in Michigan, we guessed there would be rust somewhere on the car, it's usually a given. But today we did do a crawl around the underside, and it appears that everything is looking good. Actually, we got two the "thumbs up" from our lot worker who checked it out. He said the rust is very minimal, and it has a solid frame and chassis. He said the floors looked good also, but we are not getting into ripping up the carpeting, so we'll have to go on his view from the ground. Overall he seemed very impressed with what he could see from the bottom side. We had put up a "BUY IT NOW" option yesterday, but apparently when the bid clears the reserve price, it also removes the BIN option....so this auction continues til completed. We have recieved several generous offers for this car in just the short time we've had it, both through our ebay listing and people coming in off the street. Please understand we are refusing all and any offers, and this car will go to the highest bidder, at the completion of this auction. THANKS FOR YOUR INTEREST & GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!! On May-25-10 at 23:36:10 PDT, seller added the following information: NEW PHOTOS ADDED ON 5/19On May-26-10 at 16:24:12 PDT, seller added the following information: We drove the car about 5 miles today to feel the shifting on the transmission, and not exceeding 35mph for obvious reasons. With the exception of the shifter knob missing, the car seemed to shift fine, reverse, neutral, forward. We suggest before the car is driven any distances, that it receive a thorough tune-up including new plugs, wires, oil/fuel filter, timing, ect. ALSO BRAKES- even though the brakes did seem to stop the car, the dash brake light is on. The brakes should be professionally inspected. EXHAUST- sound like an exhaust leak, a quick guess maybe a collector or header gasket. ENGINE- the engine size looks to be the smaller V8, maybe the 289, not sure much about them. PLEASE REMEMBER: any comments or opinions given here or above, pertaining to the condition of this mustang are only opinions, and they should in NO WAY be considered as a inspection or professional recommendation. AND AS STATED IN THE ORIGINAL LISTING DESCRIPTION, MUSTANG IS SOLD "AS-IS, WHERE-IS" WITH NO WARRANTIES OR GUARANTIES. On May-26-10 at 16:45:15 PDT, seller added the following information: QUESTION ASKED: HOW IS THE INTERIOR ROOF LINER? IT SEEMS TO BE IN PRETTY CLEAN CONDITION. THERE A GOOD SIZE TEAR ON THE RH SIDE IN BACK SEATING AREA, IN THE PART THAT IS BETWEEN REAR WINDOW AND SMALL PASSENGER WINDOW. On May-26-10 at 22:25:08 PDT, seller added the following information: ATTENTION ALL INTERESTED EBAY MEMBERS!
