This Jeepster was purchased by my father in about 1994 from an owner in Memphis,TN who has owned it since 1966. To the best of my knowledge it was sitting is a garage engineless since the mid 1970s. My father rebuilt the original engine that came with it and put the car back on the road putting about 1,000 miles on it after the rebuild, driving it on pretty days and weekends. He was a man of many projects so the Jeepster was put on the back burner for about the last 7 or 8 years and it sat in his commercial building untouched. He passed away in February this year and left this car and other vehicles to my brother and myself. After much thought we decided it would be best to sell the car and focus on other parts of his estate. In the past few weeks we put a hot battery on the car, rebuilt the wheel cylinders and got the brakes working properly and fired it up. It is running and driving great and is a blast to drive!! The fuel line had a clog which we blew out with an air hose, but now seems to be doing fine, and it could use some king pin bushings in the front end which are not expensive to replace. This is an excellent car to restore as it appears to have never been totally restored and has had one paint job over the original coat of paint. There is some rust in the floor pans but the frame and rest of the structure are rock solid. The convertible top is kind of dry and brittle and will need to be replaced, and we cannot locate the side curtains.The car does include the factory rims, air cleaner and 6 volt generator to put it back to original. The overdrive does work and the car will run down the highway at 60 mph with no problem. I am sure I am forgetting some details so feel free to ask questions. A $500.00 deposit is due at time of auction end and the remainder of payment within 5 days of auction end.
