NO RESERVE BEYOND THE OPENING BID! 1991 DODGE STEALTH R/T TWIN TURBO INDY PACE CAR THE PACE CAR THAT NEVER PACED! 8,000 MILES FORMERLY IN THE WALTER P.CHRYSLER MUSEUM This Stealth was set up for Pace Car dutys at the 75th running of the Indianapolis 500 in May of 1991. A controversy erupted over the use of a foreign built car being used to pace America's great race so Chrysler along with Indy officials decided to substitute a prototype 1992 Viper instead which was driven by Carroll Shelby who consulted Chrysler on the Viper project. This car, #3, has special paint, roll bar, Simpson racing harness, dual batterys, communication system with antenna, warning beep for crowds and strobe lighting system. This car, along with other Chrysler products, was used as a festival car on race day. It is customary that the race winner be awarded a pace car replica and in this case 1991 Indy 500 winner, Rick Mears, recieved a new Stealth pace car replica as the Viper was not in production yet. This Stealth is still titled in the name of the Walter P. Chrysler Foundation (assigned to Orlando Classic Cars). A great piece for a Chrysler collector, a pace car collector or anyone who would like to own something totally unique and fun to drive! QUESTIONS?
