This is a NO RESERVE AUCTION 1968 Porsche 912, 5 speed with racing shift pattern, California Car VIN 12820118 Current Odometer 82,030 Original Color Code 52254 Crystal Blue This beautiful classic sports car was restored in 2007, including, but not limited to engine, exterior body and paint, new carpets and upholstery. Leather seating, dash, rear sill, interior panels and steering wheel cut from same lot. Original aluminum dash trim panel was replaced with a laser cut, brushed trim piece. Window seals replaced. Upgraded front bucket seats. Nardi steering wheel. H4 headlight kit. Rebuilt engine has 4000 miles on it. Rebuilt at 78,000 miles using 86mm big bore kit. Transmission rebuilt at 73,000 miles; has 9000 miles on it. Carburetors rebuilt at 80,434 miles Fuel pump replaced at 81,170 miles Continental Tires 195/65 R15 have 9000 miles, on widened and re-chromed OEM wheels. All major drive train, steering, suspension, exhaust and electrical components of this car work well. There is a small, intermittent oil leak from one or both valve covers – typical for this car. What does not work: Heater is disabled due to exhaust smell Cigarette lighter Right reverse bulb is burnt out Two visor clips broken Two hand painted enamel Porsche hubcap crests missing; Owner has stopped replacing them as they are prone to theft and vandalism Stereo amplifier wiring issue Owner Review: This car is an enjoyable, loud, engaging work of art. It idles at slightly less than 1000 RPM, with a low rumble, see photo of gauges. It is a pleasure to hear the engine in long tunnels. It is not fast on the straightaway as most modern cars, but it is nearly impossible to beat in the corners. This car is ideal for winding roads. On my commute, the car averages 23 MPG combined city/hwy on regular unleaded. This car is safe to drive any distance, everyday. This car was professionally maintained at a significant expense, and has signs of normal wear and tear. Not pictured is a door ding on the driver side rear, minor chip on driver doorsill, other, minor parking-lot incurred scratches. I have thoroughly enjoyed driving this car, but I must sell it since I have no covered parking at my new residence. Terms: Close of Sale – Sale is final at close of auction. Seller reserves the right to end auction early. No contingencies of any kind, no re-negotiations. Seller is purchasing a pre-owned vehicle and it will have minor imperfections, both in its cosmetic and/or mechanical condition. Buyer will provide balance of payment in cash, or cashiers check issued by a mutually agreed upon, national bank such as Wells Fargo, Chase or B of A, within 7 calendar days of close of auction. If final payment is not received within this time period, the $500 deposit will be forfeited. Delivery and Shipping – Local pickup only. Buyer will pay for, arrange and coordinate pickup and transportation. Seller will not pay for, arrange and coordinate shipping. Tax, Registration and Fees – Vehicle is currently registered in California, smog exempt, and has a clean title, no tickets or warrants. Buyer will pay for tax, registration, documentation fees. Buyer will complete California DMV Notice of Transfer and Release of Liability form.
