Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is a 1965 mustang GT with a 289 and a 4 spd transmission. The story I got with this car was that it has been in a garage for almost twenty years after the previous owner died. The car was bought by the man I got the car from about a year ago and has been in his garage since. I restore old chevys and am not up on mustangs but I have done research on this car and have had several mustang enthusiasts look at it to verify it is an original GT. It has all the GT features such as fog lights with the proper holes in the radiator support for wires, GT gauges, rear exit exhaust, non-power disc brakes, larger sway bar, and reinforced area under the back seat for the dual exhaust. These are the only ways I can find on the internet to verify a gt. If anyone knows anything else I should look for, please email or call me. I will try to describe every bad spot on the car in great detail since old cars can be described by different people with two totally different opinions on what is good and bad. I have includes pics of every spot I have found on the car and keep in mind, I am describing every bad spot i detail so you can get a good picture of what kind of shape this car is in. The good will speak for itself. The car is in pretty good shape with very small holes of rust in the bottom front of the doors, not big at all very easy to fix with a small panel, one small spot on the front fender, again easy to fix with a small piece of metal, it does not need a fender or a replacement panel. There is one spot on the rear post between the quarter glass and the back glass that needs a piece welded in and both floor pans have small spots in them. The floor pans would be easy to fix without pans as the rust is right at the front of the floor where the floorboard rolls up toward the cowl. The back floor boards are good as are the areas under the seats. The rear panel around the gas neck looks to have been repaired at some point but is not in bad shape. The paint is old and is flaking but you of course expect to repaint the car. One headlight is missing, and one foglight appears to be missing as is the chrome around the back glass. Everything else on the outside seems to be there including chrome, all glass is good, and the emblems are there except one M in the mustang on the passenger side. The interior is all there I think including a spare drivers seat. The back seat is good except the top by the rear dash is torn. The front seats have a few tears in them but are all there. The engine appears to to be a 289 and runs great. The fuel pump quit while we were checking the engine probly from drying out sitting. The trans feels good tight and goes into gear but have not drove the car. The front end is tight, all tie rods, bushings, and bearings all are good and tight. The ignition in the dash I do not have a key for but I have a new ignition switch that just needs to be put in. The gas tank has been blasted but has a few pin holes in it and will need to be replaced. The door panels are in great shape with no tears or bad spots. The tag in the door jamb reads 65A R D8 20U 64 1 1. I have a lot of parts that are with the car- see pictures. The body is in great shape with no major dents and straight for the most part. I have left out a lot of important info I am sure but cannot think of right now. Feel free to email or call me with any questions, pictures you may want in certain areas, or anything about the car.
