Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my 442 needing restoration. I have previously restored Olds A bodies, and this is my favorite year 442. I picked up this car a few years back to restore. Well, I haven't gotten to it yet, am finishing up a 1963 Cutlass right now( something different), and have another couple cars ahead of this car, so am letting it go. This car hasn't seen the boulevard for a couple decades - still has a couple T-3 headlites and nylon wide oval tires(that hold air even!) It is easily restorable, in that it is a clean Western car with excellent sheetmetal other than noted: R quarter panel was tapped in at the tail lite, with resultant ripples that need attention, and the panel behind the rear glass needs replacement(typical of this model). the front clip and doors are straight. The 442 only louvered hood is real nice. No rust at bottom of panels. The trunk and L. quarter are nice, easily restored. Minor surface rust on horizontal surfaces - will easily sand/ blast off. The paint code is C-2 - White, with black vinyl roof. This is a Fremont Ca built car. All the stainless and chrome trim are straight and restorable. the 442 only grill bar and headlite bezels are good restorable condition. The windshield and back glass are very good/excellent. The side glass has some scratches. INTERIOR - Previous owner had seats redone with correct '67 seat covers. The head rest front buckets are from a '69 - only difference - placement of the seat back release button, otherwise can't tell difference. Headliner and door panels were re-done also, but not correct upholstery. Simple fix - have correct headliner installed, buy and install P.U.I interior panels yourself - easy to do. Console looks good with original shifter. Dash needs usual restoration. previous owner disassembled dash cluster, parts are in containers.(pictures show pieces) 442 badge is still on dash panel. Steering wheel is replacement wood wheel in fine condition. Radio missing. CHASSIS and DRIVELINE - Car is missing the 400 cube engine - rest of drivetrain is there. The turbo 400 transmission may not be correct for this year, but will work with rebuild. Rear end is 10 bolt Olds, don't know if it is Positraction. All 442 only suspension is present and real clean - springs are not sagging, would re-use. Frame is straight and clean, like you would expect from a Western car. Other missing parts - Front bumper, Radiator, heater core, air cleaner, exhaust manifolds, alternator, original P.S. pump, AC pump and hoses. The correct P.S. and alternator brackets are in the trunk. AC brackets are there too - not sure if original or later model. front bumper brackets are in trunk. Radiator mounting pieces present(see picture). Wheels are cheap aftermarket relics from the late 70's. Title is clean Nevada title. Buyer responsible for shipping. $250 deposit required - paypal or fed-ex - within 48 hours. Balance - cash or wire transfer to my bank
