Vehicle Detail
Has been a good truck but I am looking at getting out of the business. Have owned the truck since 2007 and bought it at 37000 miles. I live 70 miles away from where I plow so there are a lot of commuter miles on this truck. Here's the good, the bad and the ugly: Good Truck has been reliable. The blade will move more snow than any v-blade out there because of the hydraulic wings. I put new E range tires on in the fall and they are wearing extremely well, I would say they have 80% tread left and I have always put new tires on each season but would be more than comfortable running these tires again next year if I don't shut down. Last fall the truck got a new water pump, A/C condensor fan, allignment and replaced all of the ball joints and tie rod ends that needed to be replaced. I have also added a 12" sub and amp to the stereo and it sounds good no matter what music you listen to. The truck also has a CB and small light bar. Bad I replaced the passenger side front u-joint this season and now the driver's side has some wiggle room so it needs to be replaced as well. I have the u-joint but haven't installed it so it will come with the truck. The fan selector and vent selector switches are acting up so it is either blowing full blast out of the dash vents, or it is off. I haven't priced out a new switch assembly but there is only one screw you have to remove to get access to it. Will be a quick fix once you have the part. Last summer someone broke into the truck (I still don't remember if I locked it) and they must have been scared off before they really got to it but they did break two of the tabs that hold the computer display (mpg, et, trip, temp) on the roof (it is still held in by two tabs but bounces when you drive and they pulled out one of the vent doors on the dash. Again, both easy fixes but I haven't done the research to see what it will cost to replace them. The last thing I can think of is that this season I took the truck in for the rear brakes (pads and rotors) and they told me there was some uneven wear and to keep an eye on it over time. Now, the front brakes are about due for replacement. During this last storm I tweaked the passenger side wing and it won't pull all the way back in. Should be able to replace for around $250. Best thing to do would be to look up your local Blizzard dealer and find out what they are charging for just the passenger side wing if you want to know for sure. Ugly This is subjective but the cosmetic defects of this truck are as follows. The back bumper is beat up and dinged all to heck, the taillights are cracked (I have a replacement set of lenses that come with the truck and are brand new but they need a different bulb housing from the ones that are installed) and the outside of the bed as well as the bottom section of the doors have bedliner on it. When I bought the truck the bed was dented in on the passenger side so I had someone pull it back out and rather than spend $3k at Maaco I put roll on bed liner on it. It looks pretty good and a lot of people have told me they have never seen that before but they just might do it to their trucks. When you have trees sticking out into the driveway it's nice knowing that you can widen out the driveway and not worry about scratching your brand new paint job. If you get a scratch or line on the bed then just touch it up when the season is over. The only other thing I can think of is that there is a small hole on the drivers seat from the previos owner getting in with a screwdriver in his pocket. It's about 2" and hasn't grown at all in the last 3 years. So, there you have it. You are bidding on a working plow truck with some small issues. It is located in Denver, CO but I am willing to drive it to you anywhere in the lower 48 states for $300 + .50/mile. Otherwise you can pick it up at my house. Take care and good luck. Truck is for sale locally as well so I will end the auction early if sells before the auction is complete. Just noticed that I have one of my welders in the back in a picture and that is not included. Only the truck and plow are for sale.
