Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a 1965 mustang fastback 2+2 six cyliner that is in very good condition. The previous owner states this was only titled in Florida The car had a minor restoration before 1989 and is very original. Much of the paint appears original and there are no dents or dings in the entire body. The interior has no rips or tears and the gauges and dash all seem to be original. The console is in excellent condition. The red carpet was replaced at one time. I know because there are extra scraps I found in the trunk. The steering wheel has no cracks in it. There is no visible rust on the paints exterior but some of the paint has slight lift and where there a few chips leads one to believe that the paint is original. There is no buckling from bondo on the surface. The undercarriage shows no rust that I can visibly see though there has been some undercoating. Some of the undercoating that is chipped away or fell off shows red paint behind it. It has the original chrome rocker panel covers when you enter the car. This was only for 1965, It has a new gas tank and the 6 cylinder is not running at this time(engine turns over good) becasuse the last time I was told it ran was back in the 1990's. The car was stored for many years in a barn of a neighbor of mine--"yes a true barn fine". He covered it with plastic then a car cover and it probably has not been even washed in many years. This car was his pride and joy and the owner was 84 years old. He always told me he had a folder of pictures that showed all the restoration that was done. Though after his death, the executor could not find them. I have owned some old cars in my day and I would say that this car is very close to original. The fender tag and door tag(lettering is like new) are all there and can be decoded easily. For about 5 years I had asked this older man if he would sell it to me and I called on him about every 2 months. He would always tell me "how about 20,000 dollars and its yours ". I would tell him "well its not running" and he would always tell me it was a good runner when he bought it. I believe him-he was a retired Air Force electrician of 20 some years. He just stated he could not keep up with starting all his cars.(yes he had more cars that were sold) Of course this car is not worth that much(20,000). Eventually the owner passed away in 2009 and when I was on my walk I met the executor of his estate and we agreed on a price. He told me there were alot of people who wanted to buy it-so I guess from my good living--this car came into my hands. Hopefully this mustang will become the dream build for somebody that can appreciate the first year mustang. Your probably are going to ask for more pics if you are far away from Florida. I may try to add more later. If you want more info you can call me at 386-963-2271 and please you need to call me after 11:30am. and not too late in the evening.(not after 10:00pm), Bid as if you would like to own this nice vehicle.
