1957 Chevrolet Belair 2dr Hardtop This is an AMAZING find! You are bidding on a GORGEOUS THREE OWNER 1957 Chevy Belair 2 Door Hardtop with 53,872 ORIGINAL MILES! Original owner was from Long Island, NY. Second owner from CT and third owner is in NJ. This was garage kept since day one. This Belair has never had panel replacement and retains its original sheet metal. This 57 took 2nd place in the Contemporary class at the Eklers Classic Chevy Nationals in 2008. The car that took first was a full frame off restoration. Not bad for an original car to rank with that one huh? So does this car sound like the right one yet? Well let me sweeten the deal. ORIGINAL CAR INVOICE, SALES ORDER, OWNER SERVICE POLICY, ORIGINAL SALESMAN BUSINESS CARD and CASH RECIEPT from Don Allen Midtown Chevrolet in New York City! I also have a stack of receipts with all the work that was recently done on this car plus a 57 Chevy Shop Manual. This is the RIGHT car, don’t delay. The body is absolutely beautiful. The original sheet metal is in nice shape with no rust ever! The floor is original, never undercoated and you can still see some of the original red oxide primer. The doors close effortlessly and solid. All of the body panels line up well. The glass is all original LOF. Some of the chrome has been redone, others pieces and trim are still in very nice original condition. The Surf Green paint is stunning. It was expertly repainted only a few years ago and is still show quality. The white painted roof is still the original paint from 1957! It is hard to believe this is the original interior! The carpet was replaced but the seats, door panels, side panels, headliner, paint, etc is near mint condition. The steering wheel is unrestored and not cracked. The gauges are very clean. The original radio was removed (still working and included with this car) and a Custom Autosound AM/FM/Cassette with CD Changer was installed in the factory location with no cutting! A CD with Dinah Shore singing “See the USA in your Chevrolet” is loaded in the changer. The trunk is finished off with the original mat. This Belair retains its original numbers matching 283 V8 and 2bbl carburetor. The automatic transmission is also numbers matching. The current owner has done a lot of maintenance work to make sure this car would run and drive like new. He said he would not hesitate driving this car to California. The brakes have been replaced from the master cylinder, wheel cylinders, to brakes hoses and pads and hardware. The front end has new ball joints and an alignment. New tune up with cap, rotor, wires, plugs and points. The radiator and thermostat was replaced and new GM hoses and correct clamps installed. The heater motor was also replaced. The carburetor was rebuilt and a new fuel pump installed. The generator was rebuilt and new voltage regulator installed. Finally, he installed 5 brand new BFGoodrich wide white radials on the car for a correct look but excellent driving characteristics. I have personally driven this car and can honestly say this car runs and drives as good if not better then it looks. This is my new favorite car in the entire dealership and if I had room, I would add this to my personal collection with NO hesitation. Overall, the car you see before you is in excellent shape. It’s an original car that has been cared for and freshened when needed but still retains its original quality. Without a doubt this 57 Belair is investment show quality and a MUST HAVE for any Chevy collector. I truly love the way this car looks and can’t believe how well it has held up for 52 years. Don’t take my word on how nice this is, it was also judged in a NATIONAL show and ranked 2nd only to a full frame off rotisserie restored 57.
