Vehicle Detail

This is a fairly easy project for the spring. Car was restored some time back (not by me) and needs some repairs. If you're looking for a show car, or a daily driver, this isn’t it. We were going to drag race it, and cruise now and then. For that, it would work fine. It does run and drive. But it would take a lot to make it dependable enough for every day. I’ll try to tell you all the good and bad. If you have any other questions, give me a shout. The pictures are recent, but keep in mind that pictures always look better than the real thing. If it were as nice as the pictures, I'd probably keep it. I do have a clean and clear Indiana title in my name. I have not, however, gotten tags for it, so haven’t driven it more than around the neighborhood. It has a Chevy 305 engine, and turbo 350 transmission. So if you are a Ford purist, you aren’t going to be interested. It has B&M shifter, Erson cam, Edelbrock carburetor, Edelbrock manifold, and headers. Engine runs okay… no major issues. Body is in fair condition. It has had some body work done, and isn’t perfect. The hood needs repainted, and there are several other places where the paint is chipping… the prep work wasn’t good. The door handles have been shaved, and they didn’t do a great job on that. The front bumper is twisted a little on the passenger side… someone tried to tow it by the bumper. Interior is good... seats have been re-upholstered, carpet is decent, headliner is good. The heater has been removed, and the controls have been cut out, so there is a hole in the panel. Also missing the driver’s door armrest. Windshield is cracked on the passenger side, but the other windows are all good, and roll up and down just fine. 5 slot mag wheels. Back tires are shot, one does not hold air more than a couple days. Front tires are good. It has been sitting all winter, so the brakes feel soft… might need bled. The biggest issue with the car is the fuel tank. It looks like they put in braces for a fuel cell, but then threw a bigger, regular tank in the trunk. It works, but I've removed the straps holding it down, hoping to remount it differently. Right now, you have to lift the trunk to fill it. That would definitely need to be fixed before you drove it. Also, the accelerator pedal is missing. We drive it without, but it would definitely help to have one. Last, but certainly not least… it has green glow lights to match the pretty green color. Now how could you pass that up? Like I said, it is a project… but it is a good start. I have listed this car locally, and reserve the right to end the auction if it sells prior to the end date (asking $1600).
