Vehicle Detail
modiste-cherie Store 1985 Volkswagen Vanagon GL This bus would make someone a good project, it has almost no rust. It's a passenger van, but the rear seat folds out to make a bed for camping. The bus is complete, pretty much everything I can think of is there. The interior is in decent shape, all glass and doors are good. The tires are fairly new. Being sold as is in non running condition. I was told the engine runs, but it's been sitting for awhile. It has the original 1.9L waserboxer, and a manual transmission. These engines require the head gaskets to be replaces if it's been sitting with coolant in it. Should be able to do the headgaskets, which isn't too hard of a job and put it back on the road. Looks like it was last registered in '96. The bus does not have a title, process was started to title it in Arkansas which requires a title search and a bond. A title can be obtained on the internet pretty cheap and easy through Broadway Title or ITStitles. The bus was left at a repair facility in about '96, it only needed a tune up but the owner never came back. So the work was never done. I purchased it from the mechanic. Again the bus has almost no rust, only one small spot inside the back hatch which is an easy fix. The rockers, floors and under side are all solid. Also no seam rust which is common in Vanagons. Also it has the overhead airconditioning installed. It's heavy so it would be worth quite a bit in scrap but it's too nice of a bus to scrap. I also didn't want to cut it up or part it out, you can if you want. Would be nice to see it get back on the road though. Let me know if you have any questions. Starting it low because I need it gone soon.
