1971 runs, shifts, brakes ALMOST driver (ALMOST -meaning needs lights, directional, wipers, etc trouble-shot). Owned by same female owner for the last 15 years. Always garaged, more due to never just quite getting the money to make all lights work, etcetera and insurance covrage. Finally accepted reality at 47 years old and sold to me. Only started once a year all those years, and three times a year in the last two years by the female owner(to contmplate selling). Does have A/C but is unhooked (can see hose connectors going to front underside, hanging). I purchased to sell, but it is a tough effort to keep detached from it's beauty and power. Has new tires, 10 footer paint look (means looks sharp if ya don't pick it apart, close up). Has some bubbles on roof, door. some pop-outs and dings from careless garage burps, etc. Frame seems over-all clean barring expected from almost 40 year old original/garaged/slightly used at least the last 15 years. Missing lift cylinders for engine hood (has hinged rod hold up). I don't think the original breather is present (chrome one is aftermarket)? Has the usual old (VW) fuse block with things needed to troublshoot for workability (headlights. left window motor, wipers, etc). I do have the driver door arm rest and "Pantera" "Detomaso" chrome name plates (NOT PICTURED). Must be transported. The complete system should be flushed, brakes checked before doing the 120 MPH trial run (or any trial). Come get it. If you have the money and arrange your own shipping, foreign buys are good by me. Blame it on Ebay! i listed it under "other makes first" (which will run out first) because didn't see a Pantera or Detomosa LIST catagory for either. After that I figured out DETOMASO had to written in the model box when listing. That was done a few minutes later. There is no "buy now" price as of now and the reserve is high, therefore the first one will cancel out before the other. The likelyhood of two buyers clicking the exact reserve amount on both listings is lottery odds(AND THIS IS WRITTEN NOTICE TO BUYERS OF SUCH). Since ebay creates the puzzle and charges $123 for the two adds, it will stay. I will add this to both listings in seconds. To get it listed under DETOMASO a seller has to place PANTERA in the car heading type and make sure DETOMASO is put into the car MODEL blank fill in. I didn't know how to do it first listing, thinking Ebay's system would route it to DETOMASO catagory. When I realized it didn't go under DETOMASO I tried the other way and it worked. This may be an Ebay BURP or on purpose. Whatever, it cost twice the price. Or, it is a solid restoration candidate with (I think) matching number, no major accident, original (not original color), most likely 3 owner history (not counting me). You can watch the grass grow, but you have to roll the mower out and start it for it to be mowed. Watch this Pantera. Sometimes maybe 3 kicks of the gas; then will idle nicely until warm up or rev immediately if you like noise. I'd say that is pretty good for a rarely used 39 year old race car classic. Water looks clean (owner said she had it flushed); oil and filter will be done. Diamond in the rough at a "driver" condition and price. Exhaust replacement is not needed, only a hanger needed on one muffler. Clutch seems real good; I've only driven it once up and down my street, so as not to risk more than one accident (no license plate). The frame is structurally safe, but a restoration would require clean up and cosmetic repair/undercoat.
