Call With Questions - Steve 817-996-4491(c) or email at Hotchkiss5@Mac.com I don't carry my phone in the hospital so I will return calls each evening - thanks! Had main body off restoration in 2002 and got a bigger new 8 cylinder 350 crate engine and new radiator in 2006 by Rocky Mountain Cruisers. I have owned this cruiser for 3.5 years (purchased 7-4-06) and have kept it in a garage in my vacation home. I have used it about 4 weeks a year. I purchased it with 6200 miles. The odometer now reads 9400 miles. It probably has close to 3500 miles on the new engine. A caretaker starts it and drives it 5 minutes every 2 weeks. This baby is one great ride. It will go 70 mph and is smooth on the highway but will crawl up a rocky road like a champ. It has an Edelbrock programmable fuel injection system which means you can adjust the mixture with an onboard computer while driving up a mountain. Yes- it comes with the programmer. Did I say vintage air conditioning - yes it does. During my ownership it has been maintained by Classic Cruisers in Salida,CO. I have all of the documentation and receipts. I also replaced the starter in 7-06 as well as installing an Optima battery. I have not been rough on this vehicle as my wife and girls “don’t like bumpy roads” While in Colorado I needed a vehicle that was very dependable, fun, and not much work. This FJ was perfect - all of the major work had been done. It just took TLC and a few upgrades from me. Perfect to fish in a remote place and get me back with confidence. I said remote - not rough. This truck looks to good to scratch up. Ok now for some details - these are details from the original restoration by Rocky Mountain Cruisers. RMC Outback Roof Rack, RMC Outback Bush Guard, 6 KC Daylighter Lights with stone guards, Rear Pro Comp Work Lights, RMC Outback Swing Away Rack System, Safari Snorkel, 9500 lb Warn Winch, Steel Horse Super Seats, Bushwacker Fender Flares, Rock Crawler Steel Wheels, Tuffy Security Console, and RMC Overhead Console were added to this FJ40. This vehicle is equipped with a new Chevy Small Block Engine and GM Serpentine Belt Drive System, and a 5 speed Toyota Transmission with front disc brakes. Cruiser comes complete with Vintage Air Conditioning, AGR Power steering System, factory roll bar, front Steel Horse Super seats, rear jump seats, rear heater, Tuffy Security Console, and AM/FM/CD. During the restoration the rear quarter panels, and front fenders were replaced. The cruiser was then primed with 4 coats of high build primer and painted outside with 5 coats of Martin Senour Acrylic Enamel Freeborn Red paint. The interior was painted to match and then 4 coats of bedliner were applied to the floors. The dash was recovered and a clinometer was installed. New quarters and inner fender wells were installed and finished. Rear channel was completely rebuilt. Body tub was cleaned, primed and undercoated. Interior of tub was cleaned, primed, painted, and then 4 coats of liner were installed. The engine was topped off with Edelbrock Multi Port fuel injection. A custom exhaust was built. Suspension work was completed with a Skyjacker 4" lift and Rancho RS5000 shocks. Greasable shackles, pins, and ubolt skid plates were all installed. The following is a list of parts that were replaced and services that were performed during the restoration process.
