1969 VW Karhmann GhiaI rescued this car from under a stack of boxes in a grage about a year ago. In 1996 it had a restoration done including a new wiring harness,heat exchangers and all related tubes cables, muffler/exaust, brake lines rubber and steel ,front disk calipers, rear brakes complete, all rubber fuel lines, a new bosch 12v generator/alt, a fresh 1600 dual port motor year unknown, clutch, dist, carpet kit and seat covers,fiberglass dash, weather strips, bumpers were replaced, the body had some minor repairs and paint. the rotors/drums were drilled and had studs installed to fit a honda? pattern.After 324,800 miles my truck layed down a couple months ago and i have been driving this car daily. I would drive this car any were any time as it is! i have some other projects that are ahead of this car and it deserves a good home were it can be appreciated! With that being said it does need cosmetics and minor repairs to be 100%. the body is in great shape for a 69 there are some typical bad places. d/s head light , the rear "trunk" lid both rockers have bubbling and/or some rust showing, the battery area has a patch in it and the battery is under the rear seat, there was a "rock" incident with the floor pan and there is a dent and a small hole with a patch screwed over it, the nose has a thin layer of body filler on the lower passenger side below the bumper. some one used something rough to clean the paint in a few places and it has scratched spots in the surface of the paint. it has dings scratches. The chrome is not great some rust that cleans off and some pitting and scratching.The pics dont show the scratching and dings in the body well. on to the mechanical. i have driven this car daily and have had to replace a few things. new fuel pump, fuel filter and intake boots, new starter and battery and new belt. it has a issue with the carb were it idels irradicly. The new starter sticks some times and u have to turn the key on and off a few times to make it start but it has started every time. i was told it is a simple bushing that needs to be replaced?. it handles great the tires rub a tad both front and back. 0 to 75mph straight as a arrow and no vibrations/noises! washer bottle is in the trunk not hooked up. the interior lights need looked at they work sometimes. The interior is dirty and needs some carpet glued and a good cleaning but its almost perfect and all there.what u see in the pics is what i have there are no extra parts. this car is a daily driver that u can pull up at any car show to gas station and draw a crowd! i would be happy to send more pics or talk on the phone or in person to view/drive the car. i can deliver, discuss that before bidding! i reserve the right to end the auction as the car is forsale locally.
