1960 Nash Metropolitan 1960 Nash AMC Metropolitan, All Original, Low Mileage, AZ Car,SURVIVOR, NO RUST!

Wow! You're looking at a 1960 Metropolitan that was born in Arizona and spent its entire life there until 1992 when it came to Virginia, where it was garaged and rarely driven for the next 25 years! This is a survivor that is mostly original, including paint, and has low miles. The car is fully documented with original title application, registrations through the years and lots more. This neat car has been collector owned since the early 80's and has always been garage kept and well cared for. It has no rust that I can find, no dents and no evidence of any body work, ever. This Metro was recently tuned-up and has a new fuel pump & fuel filter. It starts, runs, drives and stops well with no issues. It does smoke a little bit like most old cars do, but I think that would subside somewhat if the car was used more. It makes no funny noises and idles perfectly. It shifts through all 3 forward gears and reverse with no grinding or other problems. The exterior of the car is 100% original and ...

1961 Nash Metropolitan 1961 Nash metropolitan Coupe

Its been called one of the 10 best collectible cars ever, with it's diminutive size, clown-car looks, and Fifties-style two-tone paint -- it could only be the Nash Metropolitan! Designed in Wisconsin and built in England, the "Met" was one of America's first subcompact cars. More than that, it helped to transform Nash Motors into the American Motors Corporation (AMC). Much like the modern smart fortwo, the Nash Metropolitan still has a strong cult following. Thanks to its adorable styling and admirable frugality, the Metropolitan was more successful as a conversation piece and fashion statement than as practical transportation. Still, it was America's first successful subcompact car. This was their series IV model Metropolitan and this particular car was built between May and June of 1960. The "Metropolitan's staying power and its never-ending cuteness" have earned it "a place among the Greatest Cars of All Time" in the opinion of automotive writer Jack Nerad, a former editor of Motor ...

1960 Nash Metropolitan 1960 Nash AMC Metropolitan, All Original, Low Mileage, Survivor, Barn find

1960 AMC Metropolitan with 27k original miles!, Last registered in 2001, not sure if the 1960 NY plates are original to the car. Car was rescued from an actual barn in North East NY on the CT border by the nephew of the original owner. Getting it up and running and driving was beyond the abilities of the nephew and sadly he had to sell. I replaced all of the brake components, new master and 6 wheel cyl's, all brake hoses and shoes. Replaced clutch master, slave cyl, clutch hose and line. Removed gas tank and had it cleaned and rebuilt sender. Replace exhaust with NOS system, This car has no rust and never has had any rust. Has had a decent repaint many years ago, but no rust repair or body work. Floors, frame and trunk are exc. Removed and disassembled and cleaned original generator and charging regulator. Interior is original and the drivers seat has a worn through area. Has new replacement radial tires but are now pretty old but look great. This Metro starts, runs, shifts, drives and ...

This peppy 42' Nash with a "three on the tree" transmission with overdrive is a ton of fun to drive, with excellent handling and smooth shifting. The car handles great and cruises along at 50mph free from rattles or squeaks with its solid 6 cylinder Nash engine (234.8 piston displacement). This Nash is one of the best driving pre-war cars I have ever owned. The car received a full professional cosmetic and mechanical restoration in 1988, with all new interior, door panels, headliner, carpet, paint, white walls, wood grain, steering wheel, gauges, wiring harness, rebuilt engine, transmission and drive train.
