I am selling two AH Bugeye Sprites. I bought the two from two separate sellers to create one. Then my sons decided to go vintage racing with me in Triumph TR4s, so these have to go so I can help them build their cars. One of the Buyeyes is a 1959, the other is a 1958. The 1959 white car in the pics is very complete with the original 948cc engine/tranny. Engine and accessories are all there & the engine turns freely by hand but is not currently running. Car has original wiring, and I also have the original frame for the convertible top. Floor panels and door bottoms are rusted out, and there is rust on the bottom corners of the bonnet, and rust scale on the hood and trunk, and the other usual spots you would expect on a car this age. If you were to restore it, plan on buying floors, cross members, doors, subframe structures, and patch panels from Moss Motors or some other supplier. 1960 Austin-Healey 3000 Beautifully Restored Numbers Matching Car Certificate from British Motor Industry Heritage Trust For sale is a gorgeous, fully restored 1960 Austin Healey 3000. A ground up restoration was performed in 1990, and the car has been exquisitely maintained since and it has only been driven a little over 16,000 miles since. The car is spectacular in Colorado Red color, the interior has black leather with red piping and it drives as good as it looks. Originally a CT car, bought in Darien in the fall of 1959 right after release by the factory. Owner #3 had the car restored, not only cosmetically, but mechanically as well. The rear end is possibly the only part that has not seen a wrench. I have pretty much all photos and financials of the restoration and maintenance since. 1964 Austin Healey Sprite 2-dr. Manual - 79,107 miles
I have owned this car for over 13 years. About 10 years ago, I tore the car apart. I replaced all the metal that needed replacing, undercoated the undercarriage and truck area and then repainted the car. As you can see in the pictures, the only thing on the body that is not original is the rocker panels. I did not put back in the port hole for the jack which seemed to be a rust collector, so I made it all flat. The engine is a 1275cc motor that I found rebuilt and replaced the 948cc motor, so the engine is not original. The seats are not original as well. I put in Mazda Miata seats that are high backs, but I do still have the original seats. As you can see, the car is in great shape except the front bumper which is in rough shape, so I did not put that on the car. I think it looks better without it. I still have the original bumper which will be included with the car. The car runs great and looks good. It could use some work if you want to make it a show car, but otherwise it runs good ...
You are bidding on a 1967 Austin Healey Sprite. I am selling this car for a very good friend. It has been in his family for about eight (8) years. In that period of time it has been driven less than 1,000 miles. It has had new tires and brakes installed, transmission and clutch replaced, a paint job by MAACO, and a new interior made and installed by Marine Upholstery, the premier classic car upholsterer in the area. The interior is still near perfect. Mechanically, we know of no issues other than a slight leak from the differential. The body, as can be seen in the photos, is in need of further restoration. It has some rust, but floorboards are solid. Trunk has one small rusted through spot but is solid enough to weld over it. As we all know, MAACO does a pretty decent paint job, but their body work leaves much to be desired. As I stated, I am selling this little beauty for a very good friend. Up for auction is a fully restored clean 1963 Austin-Healey 3000 Mark II Convertible. The exterior of the car is painted Ivory White, the interior is red leather, and the convertible top is black. It has the original 60-spoke wheels with Michelin tires on them. The car has been fully restored as close to the original production specifications as possible including brushed-on paint on the fan belt cover. The car has a 6-cylinder engine (#29F-RU-H/4365) that has been rebuilt. It had approximately 40,000 miles on the body when the engine was restored, but now has 13,010 miles on the new engine, which is also on the odometer. The car has a 4-speed transmission, a heater, adjustable steering column, and a laminated dash. It was just inspected this July so the inspection is good until July 2011. Health forces sale, I'm too fat and too old to fully enjoy this car (275 lbs and 69). Bought it last year as part of my "bucket list". No regrets, just time to move on to the next item. Car has a 5 liter Ford with lots of Edelbrock go fast goodies, mild cam, performer 650 carb w/ manifold and other visible decorative top parts. It has a Ford 4 speed, tilt wheel, Nardi steering wheel, cruise control (not working right now, think I have the magnet too far away from the senser). Included with the sale is a Ford AOD transmission with Lokar shifter, auto brake pedal to fit current pedal box, fly wheel and torque converter if wanted. My plan was to remove the manual trans and replace with the AOD. Car would cruise a lot better and be much easier to drive. Also in the plans was to install a Jag IRS with 15" wire wheels and Cobra springs, change the front springs to 325 lb and replace the rotors with chevy 5 bolt. This would take some of the harshness out of the ride and make it corner much better. ...
